I'm not sure I like the direction these two companies are taking. As it is I had to gut that GeForce Experience crap and get it off my system, it was like malware. 100 disk usage and messing with network usage. I'm not the only one reading through the forums.

I know why these companies are trying to do this, but it just seems to mess things up.

I agree,I dumped that AMD Raptr software after a day or so,it's annoying and and designed for 14 yr old "game pals".
Please reassign the coding team to driver bugs and game optimizations.
The NV one isn't much better and gets scorned by friends as well.

Please leave the social gamer stuff to someone else.

5 million$? I thought AMD got payed for distributing this spyware that datamines your PC. All your data belongs to...Raptr.

Oracle does the same with their attempt to force a toolbar on people. Now its just covered by a vague point system for some "rewards".

I've tested this software, but yes, it's way to intrusive and glitched, no way I'm going to keep using it,

Intel does it too with the McAfee sneaky install while performing Adobe Flash updates. It's an opt out but most people don't notice it.

It's annoying to see this kind of tactics being employed with drivers or software updates.

I installed it last night, but am seriously considering uninstalling it as well. It does seem intrusive. The game optimization seemed to work fairly well, but I am not interested in any of the streaming or social aspects since I only play single player. I would love to get enough points to get a gpu, even the lower one, for a build I am looking to do this summer. It also does not seem to register my playtime properly. I played BL2 and it registered the first session, but then I played a few hours longer and it still said I had only 20 min of playtime. For sure if it does not register my time correctly, I am uninstalling it. Well, take that back. I checked again and my BL2 time shows up now.

Did anyone calculate how long it would take of playtime to get a gpu?

currently you can earn up to 65 points/day just playing games, 365 days a year times that (assuming you can always get 65 per day which may or may not be true) is right around 24,000 points, the cheapest GPU right now is 35,000 points, so assuming you do other things besides just playing games you will earn points in various other ways as well, when you optimize a game you get I think 20 points for every new game you optimize, so in 12-18 months you could have enough points for an R7-260x, but in 12-18 months i expect the redeemable rewards will be different, so meh.

Yeah I'm starting to hate those little toolbar installers coming with programs that has nothing to do with toolbars. C-net is notorious for distributing .exe's with those in them whereas the same .exe found straight from the company that made them doesn't have them (such as the free version of Farstone's Driveclone), and yeah Adobe's been doing it, go figure why the internet is trying to eliminate flash for html5.

I did a thorough cleanup on my laptop the other day, went into regedit and found A LOT OF "conduit", "search.us" and "MixiDJ" crap.

Thanks for figuring that out. My brain just locked up when I tried to figure it out!!!!

I figure the only other way I would get points would be through optimizing games, since I won't use any of the social aspects of it. Guess I could install all my steam games, optimize, and then delete the local content, but hardly seems worth the trouble to download all of them.

It is a nice thing for amd to do, but I am probably going to uninstall it. I just like to keep as little as possible running on my pc, and I doubt I would ever get enough points for a significant reward.

I had almost 8,000 reward points and today I have less than 3,000, haven't made any purchases and prices of items went up. Did they do some sort of bait n switch? Thief was 12,000 and now 25,000 and sweepstakes were 10 now 100.

5 or so days ago they change how he points are acquired. Sometimes you would get 300 pts for playing bf4 for 1 min, other times 14 pts for playing 3 hrs. They had to fix it but by doing so, your total points are reconfigured. They changed the cost of those items in the store to match the new point system. I ended up with just a hair over 3000 myself after the conversion myself.

The points change took me from 22k to 4.5k but meh. I am finding more often than not that the optimised settings are a load of crap as I can run higher settings and still hit over 60fps in most cases, something it ignores.

Its not that great when viewed through the lens of getting a new GPU, but every few months you could get a free game, so that's kind of cool.

When the Rapt app first ninja installed itself in an earlier Catalyst driver, I caught it some time later. Fiddled with it, seemed worthless. I'm pretty sure I can 'optimize' my games just fine with an i5 4670 and 290X. And by 'optimize', I mean turn all settings to max.

Did they hire a 3rd party company who earns money by datamining all your data with their spyware? Not to mention a point concept they change at will so people lose points. Else there is nothing to mention.

I just uninstalled it. A nice effort by AMD, but just didnt seem worth it to me. A bit too intrusive, too hard to get rewards, and I prefer to optimize games myself.

Just a heads up to anybody that installed this it will mess with world of warcraft giving it a black screen even if you turn off the in game options. I haven't found any other games so I'm hoping they patch it but it appears this bug has been around for quite some time according to their forums.
