The card is, just needs them render paths from hard-working developersIs it not already?

Same thing is being said about the $650 1080s and the $430 1070s in the Nvidia forum. Unfortunately, this is a case of wishful thinking and just isn't correct.
There will be no $150 card. We ARE seeing MSRP. The RX 470 4GB is a $210 card.
So this is the completed bait and switch? This is what we actually get for $200. Is it what we thought we were getting for $200, two months ago? And it doesnt even beat a 970 in perf/watt. lol it cant beat a 28nm gpu! This is good for another 20% rally in AMD stock.
Yeah, this card is pretty useless under the assumption that $200 4GB 480's exist.
Then again, that's kind of a big caveat.
They exist. I have nabbed two of them.
They did exist, they likely will no longer exist, as it is in the interest of XFX, Sapphire, and the rest to sell the chips they receive from AMD with custom (cheaper) coolers at higher prices. They weren't ready at launch, but now the RX 480 4GB is a $230 custom-only card.

In addition to being OoS, those have the jet engine cooler, while the custom 470s have much quiter ones. For those of us who care about these things. Since both cards are good enough at 1080p I'd rather have less noise. There are still listings for them on newegg for $199 (OOS obviously) but they seem to trickle in every few days.

High demand = higher price
Lack of competition = higher price
Lack of supply = higher price
Why begrudge AMD (and partners) the desire to fatten its profit margins? A simple, non-e-peen version of this card would likely sell easily at $160-170.
Would you rather see a SKU with crippled compute so that miners don't buy it to help reduce demand and increase supply? I guess that's one solution that seems to work for Nvidia.
I guess investors for a starters can tell the difference between a 200 and 300 usd segment and secondly as it seems truckloads of gf capacity is lifted from the wsa so to speak you might be right about the next 20% uplift. The line of free customers for gf process is kind of inverse to the miners polaris gf liberation front. So looks good on the shortterm. So this is the completed bait and switch? Yeah, this card is pretty useless under the assumption that $200 4GB 480's exist. Right now it's pretty tough to say anything with certainty. Newegg doesn't have a single 14nm AMD GPU in stock, and only a single new nVidia GPU under $400 in stock.
Demand was always going to be high given how long we've been on 28nm, but this whole generation has started off rough.
Wrong thread ~ http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2481524So this is the completed bait and switch?
Yes & no respectively. This is what we actually get for $200. Is it what we thought we were getting for $200, two months ago?
Not sure if serious or trollingAnd it doesnt even beat a 970 in perf/watt. lol it cant beat a 28nm gpu!
Start investing then :thumbsup:This is good for another 20% rally in AMD stock.
The Hawaii launch was worse, far worse. The mining craze got progressively worse for months. Today most mining is done by specific chips, even by private miners. We'll see a calming down over the next month or so. This is just the amateurs buying, not the semi-pros and above, as was the case in 2013.
