notes:
  • Windows 10 is certainly not the most stable platform right now, so it entirely possible that this machine performs better under windows 8.1.
  • I replaced the hdd for a 256gb ssd.
  • take a look at the power numbers chrome is a massive drain and this is windows 10 so pwer management might not be working properly.

subjective: feels as fast as my dell sandybridge machine.

This is a Lenovo T420 running on battery only and same 32bit version of the benchmark.

Thats quite a difference from my numbers.

This is a Lenovo T420 running on battery only with the same CPU and same 32bit version of the benchmark.

wth, I was running plugged in with it on high performance mode, I'll try to run it again.

Sorry its not the same CPU. Yours is an i3 without turbo, mine is an i5 with turbo. Not exactly making the FX 7500 numbers better tho. :/

4 years old, 50% faster and runs Windows 10 like a champ

OpenGL numbers are 12.58 FPS if it got any interest.

The lower clocked Dell i3 @ 2.1Ghz is faster in single core performance...

yah, I can see that, sandybridge is a pretty good uarch. Steamroller just gets a bad rap, as you can see that was competitive performance. Ivybridge and haswell arent that much better than sandybridge so steamroller doesnt trail too far behind. So that is enough about intel.

Still slower 4 years after in the range of 10 to 50% depending on i3 or i5, and you still think its competitive?

yes, you can hardly feel a difference comparing the fx-7500 with the i3 and the i5 can contend with the massive fx-7600p. To top it all off, I don't even need to reiterate the igp performance stats.

So you got something close to the i3 SB non turbo performance, 4 years later. Thats 4 years of sales in between that people at best would have to sidegrade for. Assuming they didnt buy an i5.

And its still not reached unless you look at GPU

it's almost there, besides it already easily reaches the "good enough" level of cpu performance with all the decent amount of gpu icing sprinkled on top. Mybe you should try it for few days, I swear it's ok , join us, JOIN US!

Whats the price of the FX7500?
chip costs? dunno but the laptop costs $650 at bestbuy.

Because Cinebench, as a FP bench, will not give an accurate idea of how will be the perf for generic usages that are all Integer based, try to test with 7 ZIP.

Just for comparison, here is my overclocked Llano based A6-3400M laptop's score, it was pulling 35-36 watts on the Kill-o-Watt if I remember correctly, and is a 35 watt TDP APU:

Even with an SSD and dual channel this laptop is starting to feel a bit sluggish. Still on Win7 64 too, not sure if that matters.

Not sure how much difference there is But I see quite a mix of 32 and 64bit CB11.5.

Only Monstercameron and I used 32bit it seems.

that is a monster(teeehee) overclock! this system throttles down to ~2GHz in cinebench multithreaded, so you have a ~700mhz cpu advantage that gets you only a ~0.35 point advantage...interesting.

Thanks for that interesting perspective.

That's just a turbo core. Factory clock is 1.4Ghz (bleh), my overclock runs stable at 1650MHz with a very slight voltage drop to keep things cool enough for a laptop. The turbo clock is 2.3GHz from the factory, I normally run it at 2.7GHz or 2.733GHz (I forget which, not that it really matters) again with a small drop in voltage to keep the temps in line. But of course it also uses more power... nothing a 12 cell battery couldn't remedy.
