AMD FX 8320 question.

I have a AMD FX 8320 processor and a MSI 970 Gaming AM3+ motherboard coming.

I'm currently using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus version on my Phenom II X4 965 processor. My question is will the Hyper 212 Plus work on a FX 8320 processor?

I know newegg lists that the Hyper 212 evo will work with the FX processor. I'm not fully sure what difference they are between the two.

I won't be overclocking the processor I just want it to run cooler then the stock HS.

Anything is better then the stock cooler, and I have that cpu with pretty much that cooler, and I oc to 4.4 with it and keeps it plenty cool, so no worries man.

I seen some videos on youtube where people showed the noise level of the stock HS. That's why I came here about if my hyper 212 plus would work on the FX 8320.

Once I install the new hardware and reinstall windows. I think my GPU will be the new bottleneck of the computer. lmao

Yes, it will work fine. They both use the same mounting system and have the same TDP.

Installed the new motherboard and processor. Mounted the hyper 212 plus on the FX 8320 with Arctic Silver 5.

I'm getting around 16-19 celsius while at idle. While playing Planetside2 @ 1600x900 at ultra settings. I'm getting around 27-29 celsius while playing Planetside2.

Those temps are very good, so good that I think your temperature probe might be miscalibrated! What's your ambient temp?

If you are asking about the room temperature. The computer is in the coldest part of the house. In the winter time this part of the house can get cold. I need a electric heat pad on my bed just to keep warm.

It's around 60 degree fahrenheit give or take couple degrees. Right now we are in a cold snap where I live.

I think the reason my temps are showing low is the case and fans I'm using. Plus the computer is in the coldest part of the house.

I'm using the Cool Master HAF XB EVO case. Both the case fans and fans on the hyper 212 are Corsair SP120's.

Ambient temperature does indeed mean room temperature. 60 F is 15.5 C, so the temps make more sense.
