Successor of Radeon HD 7970 has 20 percent higher Compute Power (not gaming performance), based on EGCN (Enhanced GCN) and will be launched Q3/2012 or Q1/2013. Specification: 2304 Stream processors, 384-bit mem bus, 3GB GDDR5 6 GHz. TDP 250W, idle 3W.
Yep. Probably just a tweak with more cores and a higher clock speed.8970 - refresh product probably.
I believe it is the HD8900 released probably 12+ months after HD7900 launched (09 January 2012).
Could be 2304 ALUs at 980MHz.
That's just 4 more CUs, what are the chances that they're there in Tahiti and fused off waiting for a more mature 28nm process?
Yes. Count for yourself:Is this a known fact?

I wish I had a higher resolution picture... but that's the best there is. It's also in diarrhea brown.Yes. Count for yourself:

Mostly wishful thinking it seems.Did I miss the release and review of the GK110 coz there's an awful lot of assumptions being made about it. Or we just taking NVIDIA Italy PR as gospel now?

Indeed, I think the 4870 -> 4890 analogy is very apt. Confirmation would be nice as well, although there were leaks of that Sapphire product list with 2304 shader parts. That would coincide with a 1.2x TFLOP increase, although it could all be a ruse created by a well-informed site looking for hits.Sounds like it will be slightly better version of what the hd4890 was to the hd4870. A slightly larger, tweaked chip but in this case it will have more enhancements under the hood. AMD is continuing their aggressive release cycle on 28nm like they did on 40nm. Has this been verified to be real and not a fake slide?
AMD Tenerife - more graphics powah than two 747's colliding at full speed.
I think it's fake. Even if you toss out the spelling error, just has a fake feeling to it.Has this been verified to be real and not a fake slide?
GK110 beating Tahiti is a pretty logical assumption if you ask me. Gigantic die of doom squashing a cute little 352mm² die... seems pretty reasonable. You need to go look up that word and learn its definition if you you're going to use it correctly.
Not seeing any spelling errors.I think it's fake. Even if you toss out the spelling error, just has a fake feeling to it.
