When it comes to marketing Intel just outspends AMD on marketing. That is probably why they do so well. Intel was on the scene first so they are the perceived market leader. Being first makes them appear to be the leader. As long as their business clients keep buying Intel, it will be perceived to be a market leader. That just means they own the market, it does not mean they have a better product.
I think you will see a lot of Intel viiv concept marketing shortly. They want to try to own the home PVR market as well. Personally, I think MS could upgrade the XBOX 360 and make it a full blown PVR and cut into their home market. I think they are missing the boat on this. MS is probably too slow to play with the big boys in the hardware world. If you could chat and send e-mail on the xbox you might see a new revolution.
