AMD, Intel - who's got the better tag line?

Intel's new logo is finally starting to grow on me as the old one quite dated (super retro!) in this day and age. That said I have to say that AMD has owned them on the tag line front.

AMD leaps beyond
Intel leap ahead

They are both stupid, although I find it amusing that AMD's is so similar to the stupid one Intel came up with. They sure as heck didn't ask us before putting it out there.

Yeah, and it took forever to get the stupid new badges to work, had to swipe it like 3 times before it would work. They really should have asked us before coming up with something so lame..

When it comes to marketing Intel just outspends AMD on marketing. That is probably why they do so well. Intel was on the scene first so they are the perceived market leader. Being first makes them appear to be the leader. As long as their business clients keep buying Intel, it will be perceived to be a market leader. That just means they own the market, it does not mean they have a better product.

I think you will see a lot of Intel viiv concept marketing shortly. They want to try to own the home PVR market as well. Personally, I think MS could upgrade the XBOX 360 and make it a full blown PVR and cut into their home market. I think they are missing the boat on this. MS is probably too slow to play with the big boys in the hardware world. If you could chat and send e-mail on the xbox you might see a new revolution.

Intel definitely has more marketing clout than AMD and of course they have a longer history. AMD can make up for this by using 'smart marketing'....which Intel seems to be lacking.

As far as this tag line one upper goes, I'd say it's definitely a hands down winner. They need more marketing ideas like this. In fact, they should take this 'leaps beyond' thing a step further and do a national tour (in the US) like Microsoft and Nintendo did. Have a demo truck touring the country with a portable game LAN to demo their systems. This would definitely kick some ass and be leaps beyond anything Intel has done...heh. Hopefully Intel won't think of it first....lol

I guess that's one for the AMD folks to answer but either way it's much better than the Intel one! If it's not it should be...lol. If it is, hats off to the AMD marketing folks.
