The AMDFanboy in me likes the video, but the realistic part of me thinks it's just too good to be true.

I think AMD is going to improve its' Market position and Fiscal situation a lot in the next few years. At least they should be able to. However, Intel and Nvidia will certainly not just lie down and let AMD go unchallenged. Whether AMD succeeds amazingly or fails miserably in the next few years, they've done what they needed to at least have the chance at success.

Our PHD level candidates are lazy, whiny, uncreative, and suprisingly stupid.

It's similar to the PE situation in everything but structural engineering. The person with the qualifications is just a stamp and is useless as anything else.

I would take x86 over ARM any day. My Motorola phone(year 2012) with x86 single core Atom performs better, has better battery life and can address more files at once than my new oct core ARM-based Huawei(2016).

You're using a Bonnell-core Atom phone??? I feel sorry for you. I have Bonnell-based netbook running Debian. Speed is atrociously slow.

But it's quite easy to defeat for companies like NV that has a lot of money, Intel isn't going anywhere, they Zen may threaten it's server and HPC market. When CERN is excited about Zen you know it's the real deal.

Not my experience, the chip designers I've known weren't diploma mill h1b'rs.

I don't know what backwater this is supposed to be describing but the engineers I've known worked at Intel, Motorola, AMD, Compaq, Dell, startups and their credentials weren't hollow.
