At the current pricing:

X2 4400+ Brisbane : $ 159.00
ASUS M2A-VM : $ 80.00
Vista Ultimate : $ 349.00

So, pricing for $ 349.00 is about the same cost as Vista Ultimate itself. But since it should have a big sticker saying NFR outside, technically value is $ 0.

Also, keep in mind that there is a rumor that AMD will cut their price one more time next month. So, by the time when we pick up the bundle, the value of CPU + mobo may be $ 200 or even less. So, you decide. I will attend the tour itself more likely, but won't pick up the bundle.

There are several reviews of the board. Just do google such, then you will find them. (One from techpowerup, one from OCworkbench, one from PCPer, and so on) This is definately not an OC board, as PCI-E and PCI clocks are not locked according to the reviews.

I am not sure of where you get your logic and pricing (especially $0 for Vista just cause its will have a NFR sticker, :roll: ) but for $249 for the whole combo isn't to bad at all.

Here are what I found for pricing on newegg.com: (as of 4/22/07)
AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+: $115.00
Asus M2A-VM: $ 70.99
MS Vista Ultimate: $378.99 (assuming it will be a retail package that wil have both 32 and 64bit versions)
McAfee Virusscan Plus 2007: $34.99
Total: $599.97

Sell the board and cpu for around $60, $100 respectively, McAfee for say $15 and that leaves Vista Ultimate for $74. If you can get more for the other parts, even better deal.

I wonder how they vet if you're a self-employed system builder. My friend and build lots of systems for resale, but we're not incorporated. Can anyone recall from the last one what they need to see as evidence of qualification, if anything? That last part about "eligibility details ... at time of purchase" sounds like a setup for getting screwed.
