Yeah, there was a Word document attached to it. At first I thought it might be a scam because it asked me to fax it back with my SSN and signature. I called someone in AMD's PR department to make sure it was legit. They told me they didn't need a SSN because the weekly prizes are all worth less than $600 and they don't have to report them directly to the IRS and to just leave it blank. They wouldn't tell me what I won until they got the affadavit. For that matter, they still haven't told me.

Screw it, I'm in NY and I'm gona play anyway, just in case they screwed up, I can't imagine it being illegal here as we won both an 1800+ and a 2100+ from xppcentral.

Gah, that didn't turn out at all. What I originally typed was:

I faxed mine in over the weekend and haven't heard anything yet, either. We'll probably have to wait until we actually recieve the box (or envoleope for 3rd prize) in the mail.

Don't worry if you don't hear anything after faxing in your info. I got an email saying I had won during the XPP Central giveaway. I returned it and never heard anything back. I got worried so I emailed the customer service link. The email got bounced back to me saying it was an invalid email address, so I thought it was just a scam to get my info. A couple of days later, it showed up via UPS. This doesn't seem to be very well organized, but I can almost guarantee you will get your stuff.

YES!!!! I WON 1st Prise! in the Ultimate Digital Experience. I was notified yesterday May 30, I faxed my affidavit the same day then replied to email asking if they received my affidavit. I received a sponse today May 31, informing me:

We received your affidavit on May 30th, and you have won an MSI
K7N420 PRO motherboard featuring NVIDIA nForce 420D Platform
Processors, and an AMD Athlon(tm) XP processor 2100+ . We are
coordinating delivery now, so you can expect your prize within 4-6
weeks.

I won AMD's contest last time and am typing on the computer that came as a result of it. Last time we used an online webpage and initialed it. That served as us signing an affidavit (sp?). This is AMD people, stop worrying. If you won, you will get your prize. I got mine in ~2 weeks. Shipped UPS I believe.

Keep checking yer e-mail, peeps, I just got my notification today. Of course I won't know what I actually won until after I send in the affidavit.

This is the first thing I've ever won (unless you count winning a psx dual shock controller when I didn't even have a psx [har har, thanks Sony]).

Question, did you guys scribble in the Attn: stuff on the top of the affidavit or make some kind of cover sheet?

Hey Balt,

If you where just notified today (June 3, 2002) it's possible you may have won the GRAND PRIZE drawing. According to AMD, the grand prize drawing is today.

I would pick the trip to NY.... nice vacation plus $800 bucks spending cash... nice !
