Discussion AMD PC rebuild queries

Am planning to upgrade my PC. Will keep my Cosmos 1000 Tower case and the 4HDDs + 2SSDs.Also, I will use my current monitor

Main uses, apart from browsing and normal usage, will be home video editing. I do not need it for Gaming purposes.

I am thinking of:

Ryzen 2700x
Asus x470 strix-f would welcome suggestions for alternatives
Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4
Corsair MX 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power supply

Will appreciate your thoughts. I am open to change the parts as necessary.

That does look good. I just saw in another thread there is a deal on Asrock taichi motherboard that is pretty good.

Also as @daveybrat said don't forget you will need a discrete GPU for the system as there is no onboard IGPU.

Looks good. The X470-F will give a lot of options if you'll ever want to add a few NVMe drives. Which you will eventually, if you're video editing.

Yeah, don't forget to add a discrete graphics card. The non-G Ryzens don't have an IGP. For non-gaming, a basic GT1030 (GDDR5), or RX550 if you want to go all-AMD, will do fine.

If you want to go up a notch, the low-end Radeon Pro and Quadros are worth a look.

For that price range i'd definitely look into getting an Nvidia GTX 1660Ti video card. Or if you can wait, the GTX 1660 will be out any day now and should be around $229 USD.

You did not mention total budget. X399 threadripper will give you a big performance increase on your home video editing, IF your budget allows for it. The 1950x is only $575 right now, (last I saw). Get an X399 Taichi motherboard, and 32 gig of low latency ram, and you have a killer Home video editing system. More IO, more cores, more bandwidth.
