But I never claimed they were throttling, I'm just asking where are these multiple leakers proving otherwise. This is the Polaris thread so people are genuinely interested in that.

There have been no claims that it has throttled during gaming. So thus we can say that any benchmarks shown are thus not throttling. There are many results in here posted by myself, you, and many others, so all of those show it not throttling during gaming.

You have yet to provide any proof otherwise.

So we have anywhere from 66% (tad slower than Radeon R9 390) to 80% (almost matching Fury non-X) for AIB cards among our predictions.

Still some hours till NDA drops!

Edit: Someone is doing Radeon RX 480 vs Geforce GTX 970 here, but you need to log in to read from page 2 onwards.

Don't know if we should be happy or not about this. Sustained 1266 MHz during gaming means reference probably won't gain a lot from overclocking if it can't even hit stable 1400 MHz like PCGH's staff mentioned (single digits?). Let's hope custom does better if that's the case.

Not sure if understood. Are you saying a throttling GPU is a good thing?
And even assuming for a moment you really meant this, throttling means you loose in the first place...it does not mean you gain more by overclocking.

Not sure why you are quoting me when what you are talking about (Overclocking) has nothing to do with throttling...

But here is someone who got their retail card today and says he gets 45-50 at load.

Edit: Actually I can't understand how he spun it as a negative. Nm.

Just means they had to clock it near to the best it can do to get it to perform. Shrug.

It wouldn't be a surprise if the fairest places to judge this chip aren't at 480 speeds/power levels, but down at notebook etc levels.

New Radeon RX 480 gaming videos (while NDA doesn't expire):

Up to 82° C in The Witcher 3, lower in others but some don't have temperature monitoring.

Very confused why the afterburner OSD keeps changing colors and what information is shown... makes me think its multiple different computers or something is up.

Temps are as useful in isolation as clock speed. You can trade between them and fan speed so you need to know both of them and the noise profile of the fan before you can tell what the card's going to sound like and whether it's throttling or just letting the chip run hot to keep noise low.

from the first link.

Thank you for the benchmark! So the average FPS is around 53 in FHD with Ultra settings, and let's say "beta" drivers... Amazing! With my 2560x1080 resolution on Ultra it will be around 40 (-20% FPS).... when this card will hit the local markets I will totally buy one! By thy way from 1:54 it's not the Witcher it's the Flash

Up to 82° C here as well, but at least it's pretty close to 1266 MHz during benchmarks.

On a side note, 168.8W while running Furmark (compared to Geforce GTX 1080 FE's 180.1W) at 3:50.

Furmark maximum power usage is set in software, and varies even between manufacturers (MSI being infamous for not throttling back in Furmark). It means diddly squat for gaming power usage.

Furmark uses maximum board power. Not even relevant to actual power usage for either AMD or Nvidia.
