Source for 2?
All the leaks (not that they mean anything in terms of real-world performance) slot the RX 480 between the 390X/980 performance level.
Not that videocardz is a reliable source, but I assume whatever sources your 'estimates' are from are about as reliable. (article from yesterday)

Perhaps consider not speaking so matter of factly? All it does is rile people up.
Actually more recent leaks from WCCF show better performance all at stock 100W and 60C (massive headroom indicated by this).
I'm shaking my head at people scoffing at the idea of AIBs creating an ACTUALLY higher binned card with better power circuitry and cooling system. nVidia charged $100 more for exactly none of that, power throttling and loud fans and everyone thinks that these two scenarios are comparable?
Its ok for 980ti to be judged only by its high clocking, more expensive AIB versions but its not ok to compare the RX 480 the same way? How impossibly hard are the double standards around here?
If a card is a natural overclocker within reasonable power and noise profiles then yes, we enthusiasts around here like to include that in our evaluation, no matter which brand of card it is.
