At what resolution and with what settings? Are you happy not seeing the graphics in all their glory? I find an x800xl to be the bare minimum for any modern game. Try BF2 on a 9800 Pro. You'll have to drop the resolution to 800x600 and play with medium to low settings. Oblivion? Not a chance a 9800P would look remotely good. Check out the medium quality tests ran here and tell me that you'd be able to play Oblivion with any reasonable settings on that old card. The jaggies would blind you. You'd lose the whole game experience much like you do in BF2 where lowering the graphics turns paved roads into dirt roads.

running at 1024x768, ultra high settings,bloom, on a barton2500+ OCd to 3200+(@400fsb) on my friends pc w/a 9800xt 256mb agp. framerate about 20-35 outdoors, much more indoors.
Don't use AA, but I can run AF with no real fps drop at all.
so yes- since running without AA, jaggies are there.
She gets about 1fps better than I do on my Opteron146@2720mhz with a meager x700pro 128mb PCI-E.
Waiting for UT2007 to do the video card upgrade.
PS- I tried a XFX 6800XTreme-1000mhz GDDR3 256bit version, and it was 5fps WORSE than me and my friends ATI cards in Oblivion, and that was AFTER a 25% overclock on that thing- man I hated that card- now I'm out the shipping both ways for the RMA return. Piece of junk.. Never recomending 6800ANYTHING to anyone. Really made no sense at all. It had 8 pipelines like my x700pro, but it had 256bit memory at 1000mhz where as my x700pro is 128bit memory at 860mhz. So how the hell was it slower in Oblivion than the my x700pro? (and that is on a nvidia nforce4 sli motherboard)
