An 850MHz Athlon drops by more than 50 per cent from around $350 to $165, while the little Duron 600 moves from $79 to $53. Other revised prices include Athlon 700, 750 and 800MHz at $116, $130 and $149 respectively.
a duron 700 @ 1000 (if you manage to reach that high) is still slower than
a t-bird @900 mghz in most apps.
So get a t-bird 800 (copper) and go for 1000 or 1100 you'll be about 20% faster than that duron , and will probably be happy for much longer than with the duron.
imo.
i'll pickup the first 850 that is $165 and i'll run that baby at 1100
Ok, this has been posted a dozen times now. And where they're getting "..An 850MHz Athlon drops by more than 50 per cent from around $350." I have no idea. An 850Mhz Athlon is a little over $200 - not $350!
