just like the times of pentium 1 to p2 to p3...all jumps gave almost double the performance, today if a new cpu give 40% more, it is a huge win.
guess what? we don't see a 100% jump many years ago for gpus too.
Lets not pretend like your situation applies to everyone.
Looks like you guys are being trolled...
lol, by having a paper launch? availability will not be until sometime in January. they did come close though.AMD keeps promises. New generation of GCN-based videocards in 2011? Yeah, they did it.
if it was a hard launch we would know it.we really don't know what will happen till tomorrow, which even that is speculation really.
lol, is this your first new card launch? do you think they secretly shipped them to stores and not one person has seen them yet? if its a hard launch then people would be posting left and right showing the cards in stock. dont you recall all the pics that get posted right before every hard launch? plus AMD pulled the launch forward pretty quickly so of course its a paper launch.how would we know?
I'm not saying that I think it is, but just saying.
Great point, the 79xx's don't apply to most people, the X2's won't either, so I guess the bulk of gamers will be able to enjoy some rebadged 78xx's.
Good to see AMD really catering to it's existing customer base.
Yeah, I'm so upset that I'll be able to get a 28nm 6970 (7870) with GCN shaders, crazy OC headroom, and lower power consumption for the same price as a 40nm 560ti 448. Damn you AMD
Wow you know a lot of info... How far is yours overclocked, and how many watts is it pulling?
Most of the benchmarks posted is actually off a 7950 xD
It's called common sense. Exact same specs, 40nm vs 28nm. You explain how it will not OC higher and pull less power.
Oh, okay. So you were assuming. Noted.
Explain yourself
All i can say is you will be surprised when you see the actual 7970 benchmarks
I guess your new sig was done to tell us this. In that case, was AMD's reviewers guide a misdirection? All i can say is you will be surprised when you see the actual 7970 benchmarks
