FM2+ had the problem of an IMC that could not be programmed to use a higher RAM ratio than that which produced DDR3-2400. We have no idea if AM4 is saddled with the same problem

Since we have only ever seen A320 and B350 running Bristol Ridge (which presumably has the same problem as Carrizo on FM2+ in the form of the x4-845), it's impossible to know what those chipsets can achieve with Summit Ridge or Raven Ridge.

The MC is on the CPU/APU, so the maximum supported multiplier depends definitively by the CPU/APU installed... Low end MB can have bad tracks and not allowing stable operation over 2400MHz, but the maximum multiplier depends on the CPU/APU.

Also isn't RR Vega IP9 gen APU? hopefully they can get more bandwidth reductions ( more/better caching or better compression).

Yes RR is IP9, there will definitely be some improvement over gcn 3 in Bristol Ridge, but how much is unknown.

Define VEGA IP. Does that mean VEGA GPU or an enhanced Polaris?
Sometimes you guys baffle me, about your inability to draw conclusions based on TECHNICAL information. Raven Ridge is the same family of GPUs as Vega. It has been proven in OpenCL driver, that has leaked MONTHS ago. Graphics IPv9. If it would be Polaris it would be in the adequate Graphics IP family.

The APU has HBM2 memory controller. Thats why it has to be Vega. Simpler it cannot be put.

All the APUs launching this year (including Scorpio's) should have the most recent IP and that's Vega. This doesn't mean 2017 consumer APUs will get HBM2, you're beating a dead horse.

Factually you are correct, however, at least one, top end, with highest price SKU should be available this year, for marketing purposes, in the first place. Building mindshare about those APUs is everything AMD would need and want.

If that doesn't nothing will. You are just trolling. Maybe you should stick to the Nvidia sub forum.

The existence of drivers for Vega meaning that the next AMD APU is going to have a Vega GPU with HBM is a pretty big leap. For pointing that out you call me a troll.

I guess if you can't devise a convincing argument all your ego will allow is insulting people so you can feel superior.

And yet, you have asked, about what I am going to bet that the GPU in the APU is Vega. Previously you asked whether the GPU is Polaris or Vega.

You are now moving the goalpost out of the context, when you have been pointed out you are trolling.

Your question had nothing to do with HBM2, it had whether its Vega or Polaris.

I'm guessing English isn't your first language. I never asked if the GPU is Polaris or Vega. I asked for clarifying information about what the AMD Rep told AtenRa.

Vega IP <> Vega GPU.

In consoles, and custom ARM cores, and ultramobile GPUs, yes that is correct.

In desktop(and mobile) I have never seen anything like this. Have you?

Vega IP = Vega GPU.

Like I have said. Look at technical information first, then draw conclusions.
