As far as RR/Picasso, there was this slide. It shows RR for 2018, Picasso for 2019:
This is the timeline for the Professional versions of their products not consumer afaik. So if Raven Ridge for consumers is late 2017, it makes it likely that Picasso for consumers is late 2018, but if they could get it out before Back to school it would be pretty big.

Look at ir.amd.com

There are slides showing RR \ Ryzen mobile for 2017.
However it doesn't mean that products with it are in stores as it could merely be launch at the 31st of december

What is this FUD about Q2? Lisa Su already confirmed RR is on track for Q4 2017 delivery. No idea where you are getting these numbers, but you can put away your "concern" because nobody is saying Q2 and most are saying Q4 this year, including the CEO. If you are "worried" that Lisa Su doesn't know what she's doing, then you clearly haven't been paying much attention.

Because AMD is always correct when it comes to delivery claims? We already live in Q4 2017 and there is no sign that any Raven Ridge Notebook could be available this year. They may ship Raven Ridge SKUs to OEMs this year but a real market availability this year seems unlikely within two months. It's a pity because AMD is losing the christmas sale.

Q2 2018 would be a 2-3 quarters delay. AMD's CEO just made an announcement last week that Raven Ridge was on track for Q4 2017 delivery.

I get why you are skeptical. 'Intel can't meet a single deadline on their roadmap, so why should AMD?'

Well, Intel has been claiming they would have cannon lake ready by 2016 for years. However, even Brian Kraznich was not foolish enough to go out and make announcements that cannon lake was on track. So I think anybody with any sense, even if they believe AMD to be as incompetent as Intel in terms of meeting roadmaps and deadlines, can see that AMD will deliver RR long before Q2 2018. They've had benchmarks leaking for months. When was the last time you saw a cannon lake quad core benchmark? Or 8 core?

"AGESA 1007 comes with support for Raven Ridge APUs. AMD has also changed the entire BIOS base structure so we have to do a lot of work to port everything to the new version, which may result in further bugs. The advantage is that it makes it easier to support future CPUs (Raven Ridge, Pinnacle Ridge)."

Q2 2018 would be a 3 quarters delay. AMD's CEO just made an announcement last week that Raven Ridge was on track for Q4 2017 delivery.

I think he more meant that it'll launch but it'll be more like a soft/paper launch and real availability wont be for months after

They have however claimed 10nm is fine, coming and on track.

and whether you believe it or not Intel reiterated that their 10nm and Cannonlake is on track in their last financial call AND when rumors came out about it being delayed to EOY 2018.

BK also stated that 10nm yields are right as forecasted and they are pretty comfortable where they are at

You a grossly misinformed, Cannonlake has not had above 2 core skus for years now. Cannonlake is mobile only, 2c skus with GT2 Graphics. Upto 40EUs and Gen10 graphics.

It's a useless announcement. We know what happened to all the Ryzen 2016 announcements. My bet is a paper launch in December 2017 so they can say afterwards 2017 was correct. These recent "on track" announcements from big companies are laughable. It's nothing more than a marketing speech.

Exactly. Delays are business as usual, not only for AMD. And Raven Ridge is coming from AMD, you don't have to be so defensive in a Raven Ridge thread. You are going with their claims even when nothing hints to Riven Ridge for this year. Not even a showcase from pre-sale units in a recent tech event like IFA.

You are grossly misinformed, so I will take your predictions with a huge grain of salt. I would advise anyone else here to do the same.

BK didn't say a single thing about cannon lake being ready for delivery at a specific quarter because BK knows (and previously knew) that Cannonlake won't be delivered until 2018 at the earliest. Your sources are just various press releases by intel, nothing specific and nothing from BK.

CEOs don't go out and make statement about specific times for delivery on a certain product unless they know they won't be proven wrong. Lisa Su is also a much, much better CEO than BK and makes MUCH fewer mistakes. I would trust her word over BKs and I think most here would agree that she is a better CEO, whether they like intel better as a company or not.

It is an announcement for shareholders, not for internet forum members. Obviously you find it useless, but for investors like myself it is quite important. It is also very important for AMD because their very existence depends on their ability to correctly predict TTM on their newest products. AMD is not like intel and cannot weather multiple disappointing releases over and over. They need products built on time and correctly, and they cannot lie (like intel) about their future products because they don't pay a dividend and thus cannot hold investors unless they are trustworthy and demonstrate growth.

Delays are usual, but it is not usual for the CEO to come out and say "we will deliver in this quarter" then not deliver in that quarter. It would make no sense for her to make such statements, especially given the tenuous state of AMD's finances and share price.

Intel is not AMD and has a much larger product line and capacity to weather such delays (and the resulting bad PR). AMD can't afford that.

I almost wonder if OEMs are delaying RR's release due to DRAM prices.. and AMD has no choice but to go with it.

I missed that announcement. Link?

Who said Q2 2018? I figure RR will be very late Q4-2017 or early Q1-2018, there is very little difference between those.

I was interpreting what he meant, when did I say that was my opinion?

I never said these things came directly from BK, did I? BK did say however that 10nm yields were on track as forecasted like I linked above.

I also mentioned that Intel denied the rumors about a FURTHER delay with their 10nm and Cannonlake.

Update: Intel has reached out to ET with the following comment: “We’ll be shipping our first 10-nanometer products near the end of the year beginning with a lower volume SKU followed by a volume ramp in the first half of 2018.”

CEOs don't go out and make statement about specific times for delivery on a certain product unless they know they won't be proven wrong. Lisa Su is also a much, much bette

I think you would have to be downright delusional to think BK is a better CEO than Lisa Su from this point on. BK has a lot of room to improve, and he needs to do it, preferably fast.

@looncraz 's source had some interesting things to say here. I wonder what the effects will actually be.

I can't seem to find the quote but it was during a investor conference call. Will keep looking and come back later to this post to edit.

I guess it was this and the conference call to investors at the last quarterly earnings. I can't seem to find the direct quote, which I suppose somewhat invalidates my own rationale in predicting that they will be realized this quarter.

I still think they will be delivered late this quarter, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I maintain that no sane person could argue that Brian Kraznich is a superior CEO to Lisa Su. They have both 'turned around' companies, but Brian turned the most profitable and dominant semiconductor company into a competitor to AMD while Lisa Su turned AMD from a nearly bankrupt company into the biggest competitor to the largest and most dominant semiconductor company. They are worlds apart in terms of performance and most people here will tell you the same thing.
