I finally put together my new build and I can’t get it to post.
instead, when i turn the computer on it runs for about 10-15 seconds, then I hear a “click” from the power supply, and it restarts. I thought the click might signal a short, but i disconnected and reconnected all the wires and components minus the cpu and mobo.
I have a b450 itx fatality that micro center said had been flashed with the new bios. I’m thinking maybe that was a miscommunication since at this point i can’t think of what else the issue might be. Any similar experiences/suggestions?
On my Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI ATX board, and my R5 3600, after I put it in the first time, and powered it up, the front LED fans flashed a few times, maybe 30 seconds apart. It took like 4-5 "flash episodes", before it finally beeped and POSTed.
Maybe try again, and wait longer? You're on an ASRock board, though, and just a little bit earlier in the thread, someone posted that ASRock only posted AGESA 1.0.0.1 pre-release BIOSes, which were more buggy than the 1.0.0.2, and we all probably need 1.0.0.3AB or 1.0.0.4 (future) to work properly, with older chipsets/boards and new 3rd-Gen Ryzen CPUs.
Edit: My experience with an Gigabyte B350 board, I think a Gaming 3 mATX, don't recall exactly. I was trying to put in a 2200G. When I put it in, with the older (unsupported) BIOS, everything was DEAD. No power-on, NADA.
Put in a 1200, flash BIOS to newest, drop 2200G back in, IT WORKS.
