Mark, does the beta BIOS you got for your X470 Taichi seem good and stable so far? If so, could you send it to me? I have my 3700x right here but haven't even opened it. Have not flashed past 2.00 yet due to possible issues I am hearing.

Also, what are you cooling with on your Taichi? I will be going with an H110i GT when I get the bracket for it, but in the mean time I assume the stock cooler or the one from my 2700X should be good enough?
PM your email, and I will try to send it. Not sue gmail allows zip files.

Oh, and compared to 3.43 ? even if it has a problems, WAY better than 3.43

My numbers for comparison. Take particular note of the memory latency and L3 cache latencies...

Do I see right, yous is 9.8 and mine is 63 ? I will have to go back to my ASUS with 1.0.0.2 and try 2733, its 4233 memory, so I should be able to match you.

@Shmee Its on its way, good luck.

And my cooling on BOTH of my 3900x's is coolermaster 240 AIO. Obvious this new bios runs faster, mt temp is up to 80c under 100% load.

I've got GSkill DDR4-3600 (*"for AMD") in my 2700 @ 4.0Ghz rig. But I just had to re-boot it, it froze. Which it does, but didn't seem to until I boosted my DRAM clock from 3200 to 3400. (Which, I mean, it's rated for 3600. But possibly, my 2700 doesn't like doing 4.0Ghz and a memclk faster than 3200. Don't really know. Or maybe my 4.0Ghz OC is unstable, somehow. Though it ran for nearly a week during testing.)

I am getting horrible 45-50C idle temperatures and 1.45V-1.50 idle vcore with a 3700X and X570 Taichi.

Followed the advice here where many others report the same thing;
Latest Windows 10 version, latest x570 chupset drivers, flashed latest bios, stock bios settings except an XMP profile, only using Ryzen Master to monitor temps, and Ryzen Balanced power plan in windows. Still no good.

Only thing that worked was going into the Ryzen Balanced power plan and lowering the maximum CPU threshold to 99% and now im idling at 31-33C but the CPU doesn't boost under load and performance suffers.

You probably have to loosen up the timings. Memory sticks usually are capable of hitting their rated speed. Find out what kind of chips they have and search for timings used for successful OC.

Same experience here with the Asus X570. All works fine with the X370 Taichi -- 0.5V or lower idle at times and I've seen it down in the low 30s idle temp without touching the power plan. I think the X570 boards need a BIOS update.

On my Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI ATX board, and my R5 3600, after I put it in the first time, and powered it up, the front LED fans flashed a few times, maybe 30 seconds apart. It took like 4-5 "flash episodes", before it finally beeped and POSTed.

Maybe try again, and wait longer? You're on an ASRock board, though, and just a little bit earlier in the thread, someone posted that ASRock only posted AGESA 1.0.0.1 pre-release BIOSes, which were more buggy than the 1.0.0.2, and we all probably need 1.0.0.3AB or 1.0.0.4 (future) to work properly, with older chipsets/boards and new 3rd-Gen Ryzen CPUs.

Edit: My experience with an Gigabyte B350 board, I think a Gaming 3 mATX, don't recall exactly. I was trying to put in a 2200G. When I put it in, with the older (unsupported) BIOS, everything was DEAD. No power-on, NADA.

Put in a 1200, flash BIOS to newest, drop 2200G back in, IT WORKS.
Tried letting it cycle for a few minutes, nothing changes. Back to the store this weekend.

Thanks!

I'll have to give it a shot and see.

If you have stability issues still with manual fclck some people were reporting that uclck needs to be manually set to 1/2 the fclck speed to guarantee stability in 1:1 for some BIOS that don’t auto adjust.

How'd it go?

prime95 testing went well! Not the full 24 hours I usually do, it probably can be tweaked a lot more.

This was the original kit I bought with the 1700 on launch week two years ago, I think I just left it at 2933.

A few quick tweaks this morning and I got it running on the 3900X B350 at 3200 1.4v, it might be able to do lower volts, or higher frequency, but have not had time to try.

Does anybody have the ASUS Prime X570-Pro ? If so... Does your video card cover up the chipset fan? I'm assuming they tested that and it's ok for it to do that or is it bad design?

My board does not let me set anything higher than 1800. It simply locks up during POST. Maybe I will try fclk = 1/2 memclk and see if it lets me POST. Oh and in the process I think I lost S3 sleep as well, I am not sure exactly where that happened.

Ok, here's the scoop. Linux Mint 19.2 *beta* just came out, XFCE, Mate, and Cinnamon, all 64-bit (I think that they've dropped 32-bit support, for the most part).

I had trouble booting Ubuntu 19.04 first, and then had similar errors with Mint 19.2beta.

Turns out, something is wonky with Linux, 3rd-Gen Ryzen, and IOMMU stuffs. So go into UEFI, and disable IOMMU.

Bingo! It boots! And Mint 19.2 Cinnamon didn't even have any issues with my RX 570 8GB cards. (However, there's no control panel to adjust display refresh rate in Cinnamon, like there is in Mate. A somewhat small but at the same time annoying oversight. I'm stuck with 30Hz scrolling in Firefox, on a 4K UHD screen.)

Well this is weird. After flashing bios to 3.46 (TY Mark) Windows 10 1903 on my 950 Pro no longer boots. This was with the 2700X still installed. Put in the 3700X, same thing. Set XMP and memtested, 3+ passes no errors, but windows still fails to finish booting. What could be wrong here? Something need to be changed in BIOS?

No idea. I had 1903 also. I would say, put in the 3700x and install 1903 from scratch, I know its good bios. Its is a beta bios.... But I feel confident that it will work, based on my experience. Mine rebooted twice after the bios flash, but I have seen that before.
