Yay! I'm in the process of upgrading my 3600 to a 3700x that was delivered yesterday. I had to order some TIM and a couple of better fans for my rig before I could start. My rigs in pieces currently and is in donor mode.
I picked up the Crosshair VI/R5 1600 combo a few weeks back during the Bestbuy $200 combo deal and haven't done anything with it yet. I decided that I'll use some donor parts from my rig to see if I could get the 3600 up and running in the CH6. I read online that it's been hit and miss with the CH6 and the 3xxx series. I didn't want to open the 1600 unless I really had to so I went for the usb flashback to the latest uEFI to give it a whirl. After it was done I powered it off, installed the 3600, wraith cooler from the 3700x, gpu, and dropped in 1 stick of b-die and hit the start button. MB light were on the fan started to spin and stopped as it hung on a C5 error code. Dang nammit! I googled for info and found a post from somebody with the same issue and he said it's memory related and there was no way to fix it other than usb flashback. So usb flashback #2 and dang C5 again. I decided to try another memory slot, but when I went to push the release it wasn't snapped all the way down. Silly oversight by me! Pushed the memory down till it clicked, pushed start button and she booted up. Loaded optimized defaults and rebooted. Went back into the uEFI to look around and set the memory to 3200 and she booted back up instantly. Powered off and that's as far as I got today as I have to tidy up my mess for the night.
I'm planning on playing around with the combo for a day or two before I put my rig back together. Looks like a feature rich MB to play around with. Not really liking the way the uEFI is laid out so far, but I guess once I play around a little it'll maybe grow on me.
I'll keep you guys posted on how my adventure goes.
