Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

Where did you manage to get a hold of one at?
Amazon of all places. Had the chance another time a few days ago, actually. There's a Microcenter roughly 16 minutes from me but I've avoided going into stores as much as I could this past year for obvious reasons. I figure there's no harm in waiting another month or two. Price may come down. Better refined BIOS, etc.

I don't think a 5950X has been offered up online yet but I could be wrong seeing as how I've only set alerts for the 5900X. There's been at least 3 days where the 5900X was up for sale on Amazon apart from launch day. Chances are good there's been at least one day of the 5950X aside from launch day.

You gotta consider that there are people wanting a new computer after years of keeping the same one. People who are upgrading to a newer Zen on an "older" AM4 chipset platform. People dumping Intel who chase the best. People getting into computers. IT departments buying DIY parts because prebuilts have a vague date of delivery some time in 2021 and those new rigs were needed yesterday, etc.

I remember buying a chip was as hard as this during the heyday of constant advancements before Intel dropped their Core 2 Duo and began their quasi-monopoly.

Why not the Noctua? I was considering the 5800X as an 8/16 because I thought the price was phenomenal until I saw its thermals against the 5900X and the 5600X. The only way I'd do a 5950X was if I got a 360mm AIO and I'd rather not. Realistically, the 5900X should last me at least 4 if not 5 years before I decide to upgrade again. Given AMD's rapid improvements, it very will likely be an incredible generational leap for me then.

There's the small issue of being the last chip aside from Intel being on DDR4, but it's not like I haven't been late to the party before.

Oh haha. I was thinking of doing a large FT with a replaced panel of PG if Gigabyte did their Vision D theme for an X570 because I think it would look gorgeous in an all black case. Add some tint to the PG and very low lumen soft white LED on a controller that pulses. It'd be a show stopper if you were into very plain but sleek builds.

Have Amazon and Newegg been stocking them at random or do they tend to show up at certain times of the day?

From what I've heard, Newegg hasn't been restocking them on the weekends (I cannot personally confirm). Other than that, it seems fairly random. The 5600x and especially 5800x seem to come in stock fairly often, but the 5900x and 5950x are significantly more rare.

the 10700kf for 289 is almost sounding good, to bad I think that cyber Monday price is over. (Also dunno if can overclock a kf cpu) my son only plays games and youtube wonder how much more electricity the 10700kf would use in a year or if it would use less since idles at lower watts.

I am going to assume that you forgot this thread is about Ryzen 5000 availability.
Keep it on topic or don't post in it.

Thanks! So, Amazon got some late last night it appears. Interesting thing..so, I set up a price alert on Newegg for $299.99 about midnight. Right before I head to bed I notice that I have a price alert about 12:23am. Not that far off from when Amazon was supposed to have some inventory briefly. Now, I've never used a price alert before and I don't know if that was a delay from Newegg realizing that 299.99 IS the price, or if they actually stocked in a few. Just a curiosity. Thanks for the link. I'm looking for a 5600x so I changed the alert. Happy hunting!

Edit: Also, to answer my previous question, I had to toggle "show non stock inventory" a few different times on Amazon for it to show up.

The topic is available cpu. The cpu i want to purchase is not available hence the reason I'm considering a intel cpu that is actually in stock at a lower price. Maybe in another month things will change and any cpu will be able to be purchased, also wonder about ddr5 and pcie5, hate decisions and wish the 5900x was actually able to be purchased.

I see it here for 660 but retail is 600? Ebay lowest price is 824.
Maybe the thread should be "where exactly to purchase 5000 series" not a topic its availability.

Everyone knows why you are posting like this. Your attempt to derail the thread has not gone unnoticed.

Well, I heard from a couple people who pre-ordered the 5950 from B&H that a few might have just shipped, but the bulk are slated for around Dec 20-23. Someone also stated that they saw an amazon page briefly list Dec 20 as the available date on the 5950, but 30 minutes later it was removed. Could be coincidence.
