Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

Ok going to be honest. I was looking thu Ebay and saw that Antonline was selling 5900x. I thought it said 599 but it was 699.(clearly it said 699 which is on me) I rushed thru the transaction and paid 699 for a 5900x. Yes I feel like an idiot. The cpu arrives today. They say you can return it. If i cant get one at retail i will keep it. Just need my Asus Dark Hero.

You could have done a lot worse. I'd feel a little silly but way more satisfied if I were you

I just happened to look on Ebay and found it. I also have a Microcenter near me that i check the stock online daily. Youtube has several people running a stock checker. Look up Falcodrin on youtube. Thats what i have been watching

Thanks, will check it out.

I keep tabs open on BB, NE, Amazon, BH and AMD and just randomly refresh waiting to see some stock or something. I read about people using bots to buy them up before anyone gets a chance and then scalp people with it. It's pretty bad. I basically stay off Ebay and I will not buy from any of the big retailers unless it ships from the retailer's warehouse (none of that third party crap).

Like, look at this ridiculous crap... people are making fake ads just to lure the bots:

I guess I'm just in for a long wait until the hype dies off, holidays pass, something else comes out, and these finally just settle in. Like, second quarter next year? Sigh AF.

Legit I'm just lucky to even have gotten a damn Athlon 3000G APU for $49 retail from Amazon just to have a CPU at all to put onto my AM4 build while waiting. Every other Ryzen CPU is way overpriced, or out of stock and not worth wasting time on. I was willing to go $50 on this APU because it will be used again later in a tertiary build and $50 is nothing and if I had to sell it, I could recoup $20~30, so basically $20 rent space on my motherboard for a few months. Damn frustrating this market.

Very best,

Very best,
One thing I learned from watching that stream is they said to use shift, control, and R to refresh vs just hitting the explorer refresh. Something about cacheless refresh. Sorry i had no idea most people may already know.

Where is everyone sourcing their 5000 series?

This is ridiculous.

Very best,
Got mine through Best Buy (happened to be lucky I guess and hit refresh on the right day at the right time, that said, it was only a 5600X but that was what I wanted for the HTPC build). I posted about the experience I had with them. They at least are trying to ensure that bots can't simply scoop up everything they put on sale online (but it was surely frustrating to make the purchase).

Interesting, thanks. I keep watching BB, but so far no luck. Will keep refreshing randomly each day.

Very best,

Micro Center- if in Houston, Micro Center has 25+ 5800x's in stock again today
(5600x is a bit harder, 5900x much harder to find)

That's been my experience too. Scored a 5600x randomly in store in early Nov, and then a 5800x on black friday. 5800x seem to last the longest as showing in stock. Never actually seen a 5900x in stock except for release day.

That's what I was watching to get mine. There is an audio alert so you can just leave it running in a tab while you're working and go check it when something happens. FWIW rumor mill is that supply should start getting better in the next couple weeks. Maybe not sitting on shelves better, but at least if you are watching stock you'll be able to find one.

For me it was a bit similar, On Zen3 launch day, I spammed the amd.com directbuy website and immediately add to cart something something 50X and about to pay and saw that it was cheaper than what AMD announced!! ....... I had selected the 3950X
I went back to original page and spammed F5 and finally 5950X appeared and added to cart and paid. Few minutes later the 5950X is not seen anymore. If not for the price difference I would have had to return.

Went to the local Microcenter this morning (Cambridge, MA). Got there at about 8:30am, store opens at 9. I was probably 50th in line at that point and the line was probably 75 by the time the store opened. I was hoping they got a bunch of 5900's, but knew I wouldn't get one when I saw the line. Turns out they didn't get any. No 5950's, no 5900's, tons of the smaller ones. I ended up shopping for another few hours - when I left at about 10:30, they still had a bunch of 5800's and 5600's. I could see the stack of boxes and confirmed with the checkout rep that's what they were (just making sure)

For GPU's they only had a handful this morning. Sounded like five 3090's, zero 3080's, zero Radeons. They announced this to the line after the 3090's sold and half the line walked away.

I asked 2 employees at 2 different times about the Ryzen 9's. They both told me they hadn't received a single 5900x or 5950x in the last week. Tons of the smaller models, none of the big ones.

Will keep trying, have time this month to make the trip several times.

Have a 5950X I'll trade for a 5900X + cash (msrp). Offer stands until I source my own 5900X or the rest of my parts arrive in early Jan and use what I got.

Edit: Got a 5900X.
