Quite happy with my current Gigabyte mobo, so I might go for another Gigabyte board when I put together my Ryzen setup, but it's going to be tough to choose a board.

What I need are:
-At least 6 SATA ports

-Plenty of fan headers (I hate having to plug them into the PSU and run them at 100% RPM all the time)

-Good inbuilt fan speed control (so I don't have to use Speedfan). Why is this so hard for mobo manufacturers?

-Good design, but without the excessive bling, oversized heatsinks that look like space craft, the neon and the go-faster stripes of "gamer" motherboards. I put my mobo inside the case and see it perhaps once every 2 years.

-Good support, stability and frequent firmware updates

Probably going to stick with the GTX 970 for a GPU until we know more about Vega. It would be cool to build a completely "red" system after all these years being blue/green.

Durign last year
PSU be quiet 500 -> Corsair 550rm
GPU 5770 -> RX470 during flash sale
memory had to return , so auch on double the memory prices atm , will settle for 16gb instead high speed instead of 32gb i guess
SSD -> 480 sandisk ultra disk II
P55-UD3 gigabyte -> very likely a B350 , all tough it feel like the B350 is missing quality audio , can't tell without full specification

CPU is a 750 ->??? is a 1700 worth it over the 1400-1600X range? 1700X is a little bit to expensive if i include a cooler. And I am not a overclocker , I run my RX470 on the silent bios for example , it is passive cooled a lot of time even during the light gaming i do

Only demanding game i sometimes play is arma III , but since operation flashpoint 16(corrected) years ago , buying hardware for that game series is never enough because never optimized , but hey we might see 64bit arma 3 soon

@Doom2pro (since quoting doesn't work for me)

We'll have a similar setup

I went with the Noctua D15 for cooling though..

Sweet, I want a little more flexibility with my case so I went with AIO. I like Nactua and was on the edge but at the end of the day I don't want to fuss with RAM clearance and Case dimensions and that baby poo brown color fans.

Yeah I struggled with that one a bit.. my last 3 builds were AIO.. I had one of them fail and another wasn't really giving me the performance I expected.. so for Ryzen I said to myself.. let's try AIR one more time.. we'll see how it goes..

wait a sec, pretty sure that asus said they would support 3200 DDR4, but now I see 2667 at the retailer page.

I have 3200 memory at home, can I run these memories at lower speed?

What's so good about the AMD Ryzen processor, could someone please summarize? Is it cooler, faster, and less power consumption than Intel's offerings?

I'm building 4 mini-itx rigs and looking for quality gaming parts. Thanks!

More cores, lower prices, competitive IPC but lower clocks... Wait a week, look @ gaming benchmarks.

So the Ryzen chips being sold at present don't include a cooler? What are our options, then? I can't seem to find any AM4 fans for sale?
