Grrr. Got my build all put together only to discover that the backplate I have is the wrong one. The CH6 has mounting holes for AM2/AM3 and AM4 backplates and I just so happened to have a dead AM2 motherboard laying around. So I bought a Raystorm Pro with the AM3 mount kit since that's all I could find in stock. Turns out the AM2/AM3 backplate has threads that start about a 1/4" down the hole as you can see in the image below.
The screws that come with the Raystorm block are too short to catch the threads.
What I need is a backplate with threads that start at the top of the screw hole like this.
This backplate would work perfect but it has M3 threads where the AM3 block kit has 6/32 threads from what I can tell.
Any ideas besides waiting for an AM4 mount kit to come back in stock?
This is right out of my butt, so unless others give it a nod I would hold off as a last resort. Use some strong zip ties and pull the holy jeebuss out of them to hold the block in place?
