It takes that long on my Hero and MSI Titanium, so I'm assuming this is a problem with AM4 motherboards (or at least X370) in general right now.
EDIT: Just updated the BIOS on the Hero, possible it's fixed now

Any one who has the Asus Hero VI could you tell me how long it takes for your motherboard to power up and boot into windows? I got my Rig put together today with a r7 1800x and using a Sandisk 256GB SSD with Windows 10 takes like one full minute to and one and a half full minutes just to get into windows.The second I power on the unit it goes through like 20 or 30 post codes then powers on the motherboard then runs more post code checks then finally decides to boot into windows.. Is this normal?

I just restarted my computer and when it powered back on it black screened on me and now says "Bios is updating" "Do not shut down or reset the system to prevent system bootup failure". I did nothing!! I didnt even ask it to update my bios. omg what do I do?? is there a way out of this? its not doing anything, its just been sitting at this screen for like 10 mins now. do I need to press enter or something? dear god I hope its not gonna brick on me.
Ryzen disables any and all power saving features when overclocked, and locks the CPU in the P0 state. Constant OCs thus leaf to high idle temps and never downclocking.

Until you disable it, yes. It won't throttle to save power, regardless of use (or lack thereof) or for any other reason AFAIK. Does Ryzen Master have support for OC profiles? This would be a perfect use case for those, if so.So, in other words, once overclocked ALWAYS overclocked?
That's the argument for buying a higher end SKU, I suppose Although if you already have an 1800X, I guess there isn't much to do.Shame, really, because the idle power use is amazing. I'm seeing 53W with display off, and 69 (I think) with dual-4k active on, but otherwise nothing going on. Both are lower than my 860-based computer. By a significant amount.

Let it sit overnight, do not disturb it until at least 8hrs have gone by.
I was up to 1.406 and still could not keep the 1800x stable at 4.0. I think its the $89 motherboard.Welp, got the 1700 up to 4Ghz with 1.38V (LLC brings it up to 1.395V) and it seems to be steady in OCCT for 4min so far. If it passes 10min I'll push to 4.1Ghz.
Still running 902 bios on my C6h, may go for the latest beta BIOS here soon.

What does llc do that makes it different from adding more voltage?
where is that in the BIOS ? of course I have different bios, and MB company(ASRock), but maybe that was the problem, and maybe the menu location is similar,.It helps keep the voltage from dropping too low under load. I found without LLC the c6h would droop by > .02v and cause the system to lock. Only issue with it is it can boost the voltage if you raise it too much..
I'm not sure about this. If I OC my 1700 to 3.8Ghz and 1.3v, when it's idle the AI Suite shows me using maybe a few watts more than non-OC and temps barely budge. Of course when I apply load that wattage skyrockets but I believe it's still hitting some kind of power saving state. Besides, Ryzen's never throttle below their minimum unlike an Intel anyway right? Be glad to can get it to 2933 at the moment. You have the Samsung version of the LPX so at least you can get to that speed. The non-Samsung version of those LPX DIMMs can't go higher than 2400.Also, I have the Corsair memory that is supposed to be good for 3200mhz, and it won't boot at all at that speed.
Its actually at 2933. I am not sure of all the issues ATM, so staying there, since thats working.@Markfw what is your RAM that you have running stable at 3200 and those timings? On a B350!?
