Well the dh15 will work great but not substantially better than your current one. I thought phanteks was one of the companies that was making am4 kits available for their current coolers. Are they just backordered or what's the status on that?

You have to email their support and request the brackets. Include a receipt of the original cooler and an order confirmation or receipt for an AM4 motherboard, and they'll send AM4 brackets free of charge. The whole process took about 2 days for me + another ~2 days for shipping.

that is some good customer service from phantek! It took about 2 weeks for noctua to send me my kit...

Hmmm not sure on that either. I am using a NZXT 430 mid tower. The heatsink I was using in it was the twin tower Phanteks TC 14 PE dual 140mm fans.
Wow yeah you're fine : ) That Phanteks has a height of 171mm so something like a Noctua NH-U12S would be fine. If you have the room regarding RAM chips and anything else around the affected location, there's the monstrous NH-D15 which you can get free AM4 kit for.

Thanks for the info I just finished emailing them with a request for a mounting bracket. Sure would save me alot of money and the headache of having to purchase another heatsink yet again. I already have quite the collection of heatsinks mounting up on my shelf,no puns intended.

Wow that's fast! I'll keep them in mind for coolers from now on. Imagine all the people stuck with Corsair.
Yeah well I also had a email in to Cooler Master for the last week and a half and still have not had a reply and I even shot them a second email last Thursday and still nothing..

I was trying to figure out if the latest Win10 update help somewhere based on some reddit post.
I have a 1700X + Latest Win10 update, what can I quickly test, any requests?

Also I can do Linux tests if you have the sources but I am using Ubuntu LTS 16.10 so maybe not latest though.

Also funny, when I was doing something on Visual Studio FRAPS tells me I have 4 FPS.

Ditto, I finally got 15061 to install. Had to remove a reg entry buried deep. Thankfully someone else had the same problem and posted about it.

Are you able to overclock Ryzen while maintaining low idle clocks and voltage? I would assume so?

Say hello to my little friend:

Will permanently house a R7 1700 whenever that gets here. I'll drop my R7 1800X in there later tonight and see what the cheapest (as of March 2017) B350 motherboard is capable of. I've got three different sets of DDR4 from 2400-3400 so I'm expecting I'll get something to work with overclocking.

I cancelled my Cooler Master bracket order for a couple reasons:

1. taking forever
2. It looks like it would mount the cooler with the fan pointing up/down rather than toward the rear exhaust fan :|

By cancelled I mean e-mailed them to cancel, hopefully they will eventually respond.

Wow, look at all the empty space on that board. Try not to push it too hard! You might also want some fet sinks for those above the socket . . . maybe?

You can use p-state overclocking. Once you go into OC mode it gets stuck in p0 state, though I have found idle power usage in this state to be very low.

Cool, thanks. I am still kicking around whether I want to trade out my 6700k for a Ryzen 1700 ... luckily none of the boards I want are available so it's a decision for later

edit: I found some contrary info on AMD's overclocking guide -- they say p1 and p2 states should stay enabled in OC mode?

But... I like looking at naked VRMs.

Niko Semi PK616BA high side
Niko Semi PK632BA low side
Richtek RT8894A controller

I've seen the PK616BA used on Z170 motherboards before, so I think I'm at least guaranteed not to blow the motherboard running the 1800X at stock. Probably won't push past 4GHz, though.

Also picture of my Prime B350 Plus + XFX RX 480 GTR w/ Red Hard Swap Fans + 2x Trident Z non RGB [will get 2x RGB kits soon once RAM support is good] + 2x Corsair AF140 LED + 1x Corsair AF120 LED
I will swap the Noctua Cooler for an LED/RGB Cooler as soon as I find one.
Maybe get extension sleeved cables to hide those hideous cables.
I have a Corsair 270 R case and CS550M PSU.
Not planning any HDD or Optical drives.

I want that RAM. . pics please. I want to see how it would look in between my two existing Trident Z. I will get kits of similar timings for mine.

I kinda feel funny getting excited about these things .

Will do once my digital camera charges up. The camera in my iPhone 7 appears to be dead. All I get is a black screen. Time to cash in on my Apple Care.
