I bought an SSD for $6.

After I bought it, the seller raised the price to $44. (MSRP is $45)

What's my chance of getting it?

Oh Im speaking of them running on my Intel system at those speeds. I dont know what they will run at on my Ryzen system. All I know is they booted up fine for the single boot that worked on my Asus C6H motherboard with a r7 1800x before the system restarted and did the auto bircking thing. Since then I tried every configuration you could think of including borrowing another set of ram known to work with this motherboard to no avail. It would just not work anymore no matter how many times I did a bios flash back.I even tried to change the PSU and GPU but that didn't work either.I'm just ask alot of questions to make sure I dont get a repeat with my new motherboard coming on Wed.Heck I would even run a single stick for now if that is what it takes to get my system up and running till they work out the bugs.

For anyone using the C6H I've found that sonic studio /radar has a problem that causes crackling/popping in audio. If you uninstall it your sound will be much better.

Same here. According to AI Suite, the wattage in OC mode when idling on my 1700 is around the same.

Unsurprising. I had to go over 1.35v to get any kind of appreciable power usage increase.

edit: I found some contrary info on AMD's overclocking guide -- they say p1 and p2 states should stay enabled in OC mode?

I'm not going to disagree with AMD fundamentally, it's just that in my experience, once you go into OC mode, it basically sticks at one clockspeed/voltage. That's it.

But... I like looking at naked VRMs.

Perv!

Oh dear. Someone has to like them, I suppose.

Say hello to my little friend:

Will permanently house a R7 1700 whenever that gets here. I'll drop my R7 1800X in there later tonight and see what the cheapest (as of March 2017) B350 motherboard is capable of. I've got three different sets of DDR4 from 2400-3400 so I'm expecting I'll get something to work with overclocking.
For $10 more, I sure like my AB350 pro4. That doesn't even have a M.2 slot, I have 2 ! And 3 PCI express x16 slots. And 4 ram slots.

I think the RAM kit I ordered will be in today... anxious to see how the board reacts to it

Yours is ATX though, he needed mATX. Also it does have an m.2 slot.

Very few people actually need more than 1 PCIe x16 size slot if they're never going to crossfire/sli, especially with mATX/ITX. It has a couple of x4 slots which is mostly what you need for any extra PCIe cards.

Initial report on my newly refreshed Ryzen powered rig. First off I decided to guinea pig by going with the Biostar X370GT7 board. A thread over on overclock.net confirmed it had an excellent phase design and high quality components. Having it in hand I can confirm it is a really nice board. Solid PCB and it's well designed. The release BIOS has no overclocking options for anything. I updated to the newest 3/14 BIOS, which you need to get from the tw(taiwan) site. Biostar has released two BIOS since the initial release BIOS. Quick BIOS support is key for a new platform and they are providing it. The BIOS update went without issue. The BIOS is easy to navigate although there is no documentation for the massive amount of settings in it. I have G.Skill TridentZ 3200 C14 ram. I can only get it to run stable @ 2933. It's a little odd because the RGB version of this RAM is on the QVL list. Though I don't blame Biostar as it's well understood that memory stability is in AMD's court to resolve. My new M.2 NVME drive was also detected and works without issue even though it's not on the supported M.2 drive list. Really good initial impression of the board.

Windows and drivers installed. This mobo has power switching/coil whine sounds when idle. It's not constant. Every now and again you hear a short burst. The board is silent when under load. I think this is just an interaction between it and my PSU. I'm not completely surprised by this because in the past I have had some video cards that had minor coil whine @ idle, but did not @ load on the same PSU. I ordered a new PSU as the 5 year warranty is up on my current one anyways. Even if it's not an interaction issue it's not troubling to me.

Overclocking the CPU. I decided to use Ryzen Master to OC. I currently have my 1700 running @ 4.0Ghz @ 1.3625v. 100% stable. I didn't even try to find the lowest voltage. I started on that voltage @ 3.9 and moved to 4.0 using the same. Temps with my water cooler are 26C idle and 67C under stress test loads. I did try 4.1 @ 1.38, but it crashed. I didn't tinker any more than that. I'll be pushing it more tonight.

Testing user experience in video games. Wow! Not a single hitch or hiccup in any game. 100% smooth as butter. It's a noticeable difference from my overclocked 2500k that would get random hitches. Everything is fast, real fast. I'm glad to be back with AMD. They were always my bang for the buck choice only missing a beat with Bulldozer.

As far as the Biostar X370GT7, I can recommend it for now especially if you are still waiting for X370 boards to come in.

Err, I see two?

For mATX, yes. But as a video workstation:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...converged-network-adapters/ethernet-x550.html
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensitypro4k/techspecs

the latter will, at least, constrain itself to x4.

I haven't tried either of these yet, but given that both my hdspark monitoring card AND my colossus capture card are misbehaving with Ryzen (the former black screens if engaged, while the latter refuses to boot enabled), I'm eventually going to have to deal with that.

I'd prefer to have 10gbe between me and my NAS as well. Not sure why 10gbe wasn't an option on current motherboards. While I'd love to run a 16 core HEDT, there's plenty in video editing that needs high performance single core throughput, and 2.8Ghz is not going to cut it.

The number of items in that review that are clearly ST-limited is astonishing. I'm actually in a lot better shape than that, but I pity anyone that needs to run Warp Stabilize (for example).

Yeah well I also had a email in to Cooler Master for the last week and a half and still have not had a reply and I even shot them a second email last Thursday and still nothing..
As someone mentioned above, they're probably swamped due to the sheer number of Hyper 212-somethings out there. I ordered mine a week before launch, they said it'd ship at launch, I had it in hand a week after launch. And that's after passing through customs, which is always a hassle. Then again, I'm in Europe, might be they have better infrastructure/less demand here. Who knows?

Haha, nice. That's what happens when I skim through four pages of a thread to reply to a specific post

By the way, from the original quote you said you ordered by email - you know they had a form up for ordering brackets specifically? Might be a way to avoid your order being jumbled up with all the run-of-the-mill customer service emails.

Yeah I had ordered before there was a form by contacting customer service through email. I have also placed a order through the site as well.. No biggie really, I will get my mounting kit for my other coolers shortly so what ever one comes first is the one I will end up using. Really this whole Ryzen launch has been one huge nightmare on every end so far. they should have just pushed the release date back by one month for all the vendors. That way there wouldn't have been this much of a shortage in hardware and they could have been able to swat some of those bugs and fix many of the bios issues that are plaguing everyone. But no sense in crying over spilled milk now, as its all said and done..

Any of you near Microcenter should check online for Taichi availability. They must have just started carrying it. They didn't have any yesterday but my Mi location had one (which I have now reserved). But you might have better luck at other locations.

I will wait till I actually physically have it before cancelling my Newegg Pre-order.

Yep I have been watching like a hawk guys. I do a refresh like every 5-10 minutes every day.So I will let everyone know when they are back in stock.
I am down to every hour, so I am sure you will beat me to it !

Edit: BTW, my $89 motherboard will only do 2933, not 3200 on the memory, so now I have even more reason to get the Thichi !

I think I was one of the first to get a C6H on this forum. And the first to get a brick, so first is not always best! The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese!

Thank goodness my Taichi hasn't bricked itself yet. There's no way I could get a warranty replacement on this thing.
