For people using the AMD RAID driver (and not AHCI) - you'll probably run into a CPUz 1.78.3 problem where the program fails to startup at 65% (detecting Storage). 1.78.4 fixes the issue..

Anybody noticed that when one sets the CAS latency to an ODD number, the actual value at startup is being rounded up to an even number? For example, I set CAS latency to 15, but on Windows / CPUz - it shows up as 16.

Yes, that's because at speeds above ~2400 it currently doesn't work with odd CAS latencies, and the better BIOSes simply round up instead of failing to boot.

Running 32GB @ 2666 speeds at CL16/1T settings is actually pretty solid given that BIOS updates haven't yet hammered out memory issues.

For you custom water coolers, I can tell you the new EK EVO AM4 water block worked like a dream! The screws are milled to fit directly into the mb backplate. No switching. Worked suuperbly with my MSI X370 xpower Titanium.

My build is complete! Well almost! (Yes those are Zipties holding the H100i V2 onto the CPU). Still need to work on some cable management but my Ryzen is up and running, finally, no thanks to Amazon, THANK YOU NEWEGG!

So far so good. I got my Taichi from Microcenter. I have needed the PC up and running for a work project for awhile. I am using the cooler that came with the 1700 till my bracket comes in from Corsair.

R7 1700
32GB Ripjaw V (CL15 3200 variety)
2x500GB Toshiba X300 M.2
1TB Samsung 850 Evo
2 8TB Hitachi He8's
Radeon 7970 (holding out till Vega reviews to make a choice)
Define R5

It's running well now so i'll probably wait till after my project and after I get the corsair cooler before trying to fix the mem clocks and maybe a light overclock (figure a constant 3.7 or 3.8 will make me happy).

Please let me know if you get any trouble out of the integrated wireless, or if you try any bclk OC.

Is the 1700X stock?
If not, what voltage?
What case?

1700X 1.25 V in BIOS. Sometimes spikes to 1.4 V
RAM 1.35 V
Case Corsair 270R
1x Corsair AF120 LED in the back
2x Corsair AF140 LED in the front

Temperature reported by the ASUS Monitoring tool

Voltage is undervolted to 1.25 V. But sometimes it spikes to 1.4 V anyway and I have no idea why it does so. RAM at 1.35V. System very very stable.

I think for me this is it. I am not going to tweak anymore. I just wait for the BIOS, to correct the fans and temperature reporting.
I am satisfied with 1700X. It was a monumental upgrade from my i5 Gen 3.

So the clocks are at stock but you undervolted it? If that's the case, then the spikes should be when single core Turbo/XFR kick in and that's normal.

I see.... Thank you.
I was wondering if my CPU/Motherboard is acting up. Hitting peak voltages in excess of 1.45 V and all even when I configure 1.35V in the BIOS. But this seems logical. I tried 'fixing' this by under volting but my system freezes. Then I raise voltage again. It is very stable at 1.25 V and I am leaving it there.

"In the tested sample the actual default voltage for the base frequency (P0, 3.6GHz) was ~1.25000V, while the highest single core boost state (XFR, 4.1GHz) defaulted to 1.4625V."

It's a helpful read overall.
