My order shipped this evening. Doubtful I'll receive it before the weekend, but there is a small chance.

seems like the processors are plentiful but x370 boards are pretty much impossible to get right now

I bought a 1700 and ASRock Taichi. After seeing reviews it doesn't seem worth buying anything over 1700 as they all end up overclocking similarly for the same performance. Will put it in my wife's computer and retire the 4670K in there.

I wanted to get one for my NAS/Plex media server, but there are no motherboards that offer the raid functionality I get with my current Intel based board.

My taichi is likely backordered for three weeks, so I will wait for the 6 cores.

1700 is also a fairly expensive cpu anyway imo as the i7 line.
Enthusiasm for me is not buying the expensive stuff.
What the 1800x offers is probably better efficiency as enabling the oc will cancel the effect if some of the power trick. The Stilt new thread give a super insight here.
Sad about the raid functionality missing because the efficiency and low idle usage of stock ryzen is good for a monster media server.

HELL YEAH!!!!!! The R7 1800x came back in stock at Newegg along with the Asus X370 Hero VI motherboard.. Bought a second CPU for a friend that missed out and now I will finally have a motherboard as well. Only thing I need now is a Heatsink that supports the AM4 Socket. I am a happy camper for sure.

Ryzen day has arrived!

Pretty sure this is NOT going to boot in an a320m-c with a November bios

I would say not. You will at least need an UEFI update.

Got 2 speed tickets and nearly killed a cyclist.
Picking my stuff up now after a lot of hustle. 2 hrs and hopefully we are up and running and doing some oc fun.

Ouch. That sure ups the system cost.

Good job not killing the cyclist . . .

Yes @krumme , do you happen to have a kill-a-watt meter to test power consumption?

Sounds like he's got a kill-a-cyclist meter instead.

Was that the first AnandTech forum post from a retail Ryzen system?

History!

seems like the processors are plentiful but x370 boards are pretty much impossible to get right now

. . . and that's one reason why I was so obsessive about pre-ordering my motherboard.

My pre-order hasn't exactly shipped with alacrity from Amazon. I'm still waiting on a delivery date confirmation. A bit disappointing but whatever. It'll get here . . . eventually.

Its funny because all I will be able to do for the next week is look at my R7 1800x box as a decoration on my shelf till I can find a Heatsink that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.Not to mention I wont even get my motherboard till around next friday. For me that is a long wait for someone who has zero patients.Plus now my wife is not to happy that I just spent $1200.00 in less then a week on what she can only describe as computer crap LOL. I guess she just doesnt understand

The face you make when you realize Amazon had Ryzen orders up again today but quickly sold out when they haven't even procured stock from their pre-orders let alone shipped them!

Got to love how greedy business is right?

It's insane, why else put up pre-orders if you don't have ANY stock before launch let alone won't get any for a week AFTER launch?

People don't skip Newegg orders to pay extra Taxes and Shipping at Amazon just so they can have their orders delivered weeks after launch, they do it because they want their stuff to ship LAUNCH DAY.

What an epic fail for Amazon, last time I use them for anything expensive for sure.

Really starting to dislike Amazon. Not just for this, but they automatically locked my account this weekend for some antifraud measure (apparently buying a gift card is a red flag) and instead of actually giving that error message it just said my password was incorrect. Attempted password reset about a dozen times before they finally got back to me 2 days later and unlocked it.

I got two different motherboard orders up (ASUS crosshair X370 and the MSI Titanium X370) and none budged today, amazon support was of no use. I got the 1800X CPU and all the other components, I am about to just order a B350 motherboard at this point, argh. Motherboard manufacturers totally failed on this launch.

I have EVERYTHING but the CPU/MOBO & Corsair AM4 kit... I am SOOOO CLOSE... I am so tempted to just start building it now but I usually don't do a build until I have the motherboard so I can figure out where things are going.

I guess I could just throw the PSU in, SATA Drives, Fan Controller but M.2 SSD, GPU, CPU Cooler and Cable Management are obviously out of the question.

I would have, but I'm a little tired... didn't sleep much during day with all the Ryzen news and packages coming in. On the bright side, all my parts came in today, including my name badge (painting it over weekend, came out fairly well - excuse crappy pic, need better lighting as my Robin isn't that good in low light):

Of course, I can't check if it actually fits yet

I just ordered the only motherboard I can find in stock. Overnighted it too. ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350. It's not like I am going to OC anyways. Will wait for when the situation with motherboards gets sorted out, and I can just use this motherboard for a different build in the future.

That's nothing. Yahoo got my email hacked, and then they used that to access my amazon account. I was on the phone for an hour literally spelling out account info letter by letter with people that could barely speak English.

After an hour on the phone they tried to claim I needed access to my hacked to be transferred over to the password recovery team!? I tried to explain how illogical that was, but to no avail. I might as well have tried to teach a dog nuclear physics.

I hung up the phone, and recalled. I am pretty mad at this point, so when an operator picks up I am practically screaming for them to transfer me to someone in the usa.

Problem was solved in 5 minutes after that....

To be fair, I know I couldn't do any better answering calls in my non-native language.

What motherboard? I'm trying to decide which board to get right now, got everything else sorted! Was considering the Tomahawk or Pro Carbon, but it seems MSI doesn't want AM4 listed on their site. So no business from me. Same with Biostar. Gigabyte has good documentation and QVL for RAM so was leaning that way but out of stock.

[edit] found Tomahawk on MSI, i think i'll buy that one.

I went for the MSI X370 XGAMING TITANIUM, it only has 10 phases but they are likely better quality anyway with less ripple overall.

I like that it also has 2x M.2 and dedicated low latency USB 3.1 ports specifically for VR which is what I am building this rig for anyway.

I was going to say... I know I was able to download the manuals for the two MSI's I had interest in last week.

This is the first and last time I pre-order anything. What's the point of pre-ordering to get something on release if you end up waiting until who knows when.
