I got the first part for my Ryzen build today, hooray!

Not that it'll actually be used beyond initial testing, but ... At least I'm good until I get all my water cooling parts ready, or if I should ever have a leak. My 1700X shipped today, should be here tomorrow afternoon. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that a motherboard will actually show up. If that WCCFtech report is correct that OEMs are ramping up manufacturing now, that's way too late. Production now means products in the US and Europe in minimum three weeks. That doesn't help anyone.

I am also waiting for my Ryzen 1700. It says dispatch in 2 months in Amazon and mindfactory has no availability date.

It is not there in Amazon.de and mindfactory.de.
There are some Tray versions, what are the differences? I dont want to buy fan though, I think the Wraith Spire looks cool with the RGB.

Pulled the trigger on this with a 1700 non-x.
Bought the 1700 and the Prime X370-Pro yesterday from Microcenter. Now newegg gets in stock ugh, would have preferred to buy from them. Haven't built it yet as I need an NVMe drive yet.

Trying to decide between an RD400 and an MP500 256Gb m2.2280. The RD400 has a 5 year warranty though and very similar speeds.

And then Canceled the order. Realized my RAM (PV416G266C5K) will not work with the board at all...

Edit: Nevermind realized the PX416G266C5QK was the same as PV416G266C5K just sold in a set of 4 vs 2

Seeing more reports of bricked Asus Crosshair VI Hero mobos... making me regret my selection. May end up waiting a week or so to build.

Got water cooling loop built and testing though.

You can add my build to that list. Luckily I was able to exchange it for an ASRock at microcenter. If you get one and have to stick with it, leave the OC section at EFI defaults until Asus can get their thing together.

Here's a copy/pasta of my post at [H] - https://hardforum.com/threads/ryzen-owners-thread.1926389/page-2#post-1042860910

As for the Asus, much like JayzTwoCents
Changing options in the EFI lead to the exact same results. Initial target was a flat 4Ghz at 1.35v.

Somehow, after one of those reboots, I ended up with the same BIOS is updating screen seen here:

After letting the machine sit for 20 minutes, I started to get worried. Luckily, I needed to run out for couple of hours, so I let it sit. Come home 3 hours later, same screen. Only thing left to do was to reset (which did nothing) then pull the power. Once that happened, it never started again. It was clearly getting power as the RGB lighting was still pulsing different colors and the ready LEDs were lit green as the manual says, but the power switches didn't function.

Non of the usual tricks worked. Pulling board power didn't work, pulling PSU power until it drained didn't work, using BIOS flashback didn't work, none of the onboard power/reset/safe mode buttons worked.

It literally shit itself.

At this point, I'm kinda done with Asus for a while. That's 3 boards in a row that have had some kind of un-correctable issue (X99-A, X99 Deluxe, and now the C6H), which is the wrong answer for what they charge. Switched to ASRock with X99 as well and the issues went away.

EDIT: Whoa, quoting timestamped vid links preview the same thing >.>

OK, tentative build list, please let me know if anything would be better (except the case, I like that, and I already ordered the Corsair H100i)

CPU Ryzen 1800x
CASE: DEEPCOOL KENDOMEN Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Preinstalled 5 Cooling Fans With Side Window Support 240mm Water Cooling Installation at Top
Cooling: Corsair H100i water
Motherboard ASRock X370 Taichi AM4 AMD Promontory X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - AMD
Memory: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C14D-16GTZ
SSD: Corsair Force MP500 M.2 2280 240GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F240GBMP500
Video card EVGA 1080TI v3 (whatever the actual nomenclature, I think thats it) When available.

Its about $1900 total, shipped, WHEN the motherboard and video card get in

PSU will be Corsair AX860, its already in the mail. And yes I need one this big since this box will eventually have 2 x 1080TI's, and all of it@100%load.

Yeaa looks right to me. If i had more time to research and les temper and curiosity i would have gone for that setup.
The external clock is an interesting feature for playing with bus and the ram is proven (nearly boring after what i have been through i would say lol). Looking forward to the results for bus oc.
You might even end up getting a new bios rev and miss the drama. You cant get it all...
