Does anyone here have a liquid cooler (AIO or water block) that shipped with an AM4 bracket/backplate?
I've been looking around and even most of the products that claim AM4 compatibility don't actually ship with brackets.

I got a Corsair H100i V2 bundled with my Ryzen 7 1800X, but it only came with Intel/AMD AM3 mounting hardware, however Corsair has a free AM4 bracket at corsair.com/ryzen

I am almost certain that the motherboards that were sent back are Asus Crosshair VI Hero motherboards.

You're probably right since they are supposed to be carry it. But they did have a demo system built with a 1800X and Asus Crosshair VI Hero motherboard. I played with it a bit and they had CPU-Z installed which showed the memory was clocked at a weird speed of 2083 or something like that.

Well, one good piece of news for me. The last components for my build are all shipped, and I have tracking numbers. The last will be here next Tuesday.

EXCEPT THE DANG MOTHERBOARD.

So if they ever show up some place, I will be a few days away from my build. And maybe if I get lucky, the 1080TI's will be available tomorrow. I will be getting at least one, might do 2.

So want to replace my 2500k with an OC'd 1700. Must make myself wait for definitive *best* hardware configuration.

The Alphacool cpx water block that I bought came with a bracket for AM4 that is compatible with the motherboard included backplate.

Hydro Series™ H100i Extreme Performance CPU Cooler CW-9060009-WW and 2 other Corsair coolers have it included. Its on their web site corsair.com/Ryzen

Crono: My Corsair H110i GT works on my Asus Prime B350 Plus. The AMD bracket for the 110i GT series uses a 2 point mount that attaches on each side by using the hook includes for AMD sockets. It works perfectly on the AM4 socket.
I enclose a link to a Guru3D review which shows the AMD bracket ( the middle bracket of the three)

As ram compatibility and speed is still an issue my advice is to do as Markfw and go for the tested 3200c14 combo if you want to buy now. That combo works at 1.35 as i remember right?

Haha!!! That's what I'm interested in also. I just visited Microcenter and the guy supporting the CPU and motherboard section told me the 370 motherboards have been a horror show. Lots of returns and I guess they were expecting a bunch of boards but I guess a batch they were supposed to get was sent back due to quality issues. And yeah, everyone is complaining about not being able to get good memory speeds on their ram.
That's what I heard from a MicroCenter tech at the St. David's store. He said he had the C6H for a week and the BIOS issues were driving him nuts.
Obviously he had an interest in me buying a mb but I give him credit for steering me to this simple B350 chipset Asus Prime B350 plus. I told him I had 2 RX480s and a Ryzen 1800x sitting waiting for a mb. He showed me the $99 (before tax) Asus Prime B350 plus mb and said I ought to give it a try. He was right.

Sure my CF speeds are slower on the second card and it isn't a beefy card. It has only a basic Realtek NIC and it isn't built for heavy duty OCing. But guess what?

The sucker works. My rig is running.

As to OCng I booted into 4.o (40x 100) on auto but I really didn't push it beyond that AND I lost the built in OCing features of the 1800x which boosts 2 cores to 4.1 etc.
In addition, it is becoming quite apparent to me that the OCing headroom of the 1800x is VERY limited.

Once the Crosshair VI supply and BIOS issues get worked out I probably will purchase one to get better NIC and CF support.

That being said, this B350 mb is worth it for me (especially since I had a $50 gift card) so my out of pocket cost including tax and an extra $20 2 year replacement option from microcenter was $@70!

As I mentioned above I had trouble getting my custom water cooling setup to boot but I'm not sure that was me, late night build, anxiety or the motherboard. It became a moot point since I had a fairly new Corsair H110i GT cooler and plenty of GC Extreme thermal paste. When I hooked up the Corsair H110i GT and the sucker booted up I was thrilled.
BTW the M.2 slot works especially with the new uber fast NVMe PCIex4 ssds.I have a Corsair MP500 M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen.3 x 4 480g with AIDA64 disk benchmark scores of Linear Read-Begin=2315.5 MB/s; Middle=2575.6;End=2514.9;Random Read=2453.7; Buffered Read=2278.5; Average read access=.05ms

Here's a picture of my ATTO diskbenchmark 3.05 scores. Sorry for the poor quality. I'm lousy at cutting and pasting pictures. Not bad reads for this mb!

does anyone know if Ryzen 1800X consumes less power (watt) then a i7 4820K? I am a bit worried about my PSU.

I found out that my Fury X is consuming more power then a 1080Ti

When I ran the cpu stress test portion of Aida64 this morning on my Ryzen 1800x it showed max power consumption of the cpu at 105W.

Unless you OC the 1800X (and the amount of overhead is very limited) you should be fine.
BTW, the Intel listed TDP for the 4820k is 130w, and though I realize AMD lists the Ryzen 1800x at 95W, my 105W reading MAX appears to clearly be in the ball park with the 4820k.

At stock it should go to about 110W as the clocks for the 1800X are pushed a bit too high for efficiency.
Ofc in gaming it would be maybe half that, depends on game, GPU used and res.

Has anyone seen any reviews for that mobo? The 5G NIC is kinda tempting but haven't seen any tests for that Aquantia chip.
Isn't that the first implemenation of it? I think so.

Guru3D's review of your chip shows it (full system at wall) idling at 105W and at 170W under CPU stress. While it's nigh impossible to draw any conclusions from this due to hardware variances, I'd go out on a limb and say they're comparable. Especially if you've overclocked your 4820K any.

Also, you're surprised that a 600mm2 GPU based on a less efficient architecture on an older and less efficient process uses more power than a 470mm2 GPU on a new and efficient process with a newer and more efficient architecture? I'm not, at least. I love my Fury X, but I don't have any illusions as to it being anything but a power hog.

What PSU are you using? Anything above 550W should be fine (as long as the PSU is of decent quality), even with an 1800X and a Fury X. My old PC, with an ancient 95W Core2Quad with a 30% overclock and no power saving features whatsoever, a hugely power hungry chipset (X48), and a Fury X barely tips over 500W at-wall in worst-case scenarios (strangely, I saw higher power usage during some gaming tests than running FurMark + OCCT. Oh well). 500W at-wall means no more than 450W actual power draw from components, which any semi-decent 550W PSU is able to sustain for ages and ages, even running 24/7.

That being said, if you cheaped out on the PSU when you bought it, I'd replace it anyhow. The PSU is the last part you'd want to skimp on. And of course, quality over wattage, every day of the week.

Not aware of others but not certain it's the first.

@ CentroX

Note that there is an OC result. They also have a gaming result but with a GTX 1080 at 1080p so higher CPU load than what you would get.with the Fury. Edit: Guess it's with a Quadro P6000 so full 3840 CUDA cores at 1560MHz.

I got all my stuff today

but BIOS update for the ASUS B350 Prime Plus is stuck for 40 minutes. Am I in trouble?

How do I get out of this?

It says 3 to 5 minutes but it is already close to an hour

I am posting this from my Ryzen Machine... for now

Yes this is buggy software.
Read manual how to use usb pen to recover failed bios.
Asus crash free bios 3 utility.
You need to prepare that.

When booting up on the usb pen be prepared it can take many minutes to recover.
I tried the same. Worked fine to recover.
The problem is the buggy software asus suplies on the dvd. I have flashed using new software from online without probs. Bit its always safer to update bios from within the bios.

Please ask question.

I am making the recovery USB.

I read a post on reddit about how it took 8 hours to update the BIOS for some ASUS board. If you restart early you will sorta "brick" it, although there was some way to fix it by blind-updating the BIOS on the more advanced boards.

IMO, you should wait at least 12 hours.

edit:

this is the post:

Simonzi 3 points 2 hours ago

Saying you will brick your board is a bit of strech. I updated my BIOS through the windows utility last weekend, and it was fine.

HOWEVER, the update took about 6 hours, when it should have been 3 - 5 minutes. To the point where my friend and I who were watching it, weren't even sure the progress bar was moving at times.

A personal theory of what I think could be happening, is that the EZ Update settings are turned on 'automatic' by default. If the BIOS is updating for hours in the baground without sinient noticing, I could see them restarting their machine prematurely, causing the corrupt flash.
