If your motherboard powers on and the LED's are lighting up and the fans all start spinning but you are getting a black screen then its gotta be either a memory or video card or bios related issue. Did you unzip or unrar the bios file image and rename it to the needed file name before adding it to the flash drive?? As Asus bios 99% of the time have to be renamed to work.

Next, to do a bios flash back you dont even need to power on the motherbord and you dont need ram or the cpu even installed. Just stick the flash drive with the correct bios into the USB slot while the motheroard is powered off and hold the bios flash back button down till the little LED starts flashing then wait like 10 to 20 mins for the LED to turn off as when it turns off the flash is all done and you will be all set. Are all your molex power connectors pluged in and maybe double check that you have a solid connection from the video card to your monitor or tv.
Not sure if any of this is gonna help but I am trying for ya and I wish ya the best of luck.I know broken hardware can be very frustrating

Sadly, the Prime x370-pro does not have flashback. I know this because Asus just emailed me about my bricked prime. They are willing to RMA mine but I think I'll try returning it to Newegg first.

Looks like the 5820k is going back in, for now...

Edit:
Newegg authorized the return, so looks like I lucked out.

EK Supremacy MX (new AM4 version). All I had to do was remove plastic mounting brackets from the motherboard, apply thermal paste, and screw it in.
Did you order it from PC Performance? That seems like the easiest way to go with custom water cooling.

Oh man, so sorry to hear that, that really blow's. glad newegg is being so cool and quick about RMA'ing your motherboard though. I know how much of a nightmare it can be trying to get an RMA these days and having to sometimes wait weeks or months for a reply.

Ordered straight from EK as they were the only ones who had the AM4 bracket design at the time (not that it matters with the C6H mobo). I did order other watercooling gear from Performance PCs without issue and it looks like they carry the new EK AM4 blocks now.

Thanks IEC. I'll be gone for 10 days away from the computers. When I get back hopefully the supply of Asus C6Hs will improve. Still want to use that as the mb for my 1800X.

I use most of the same programs as well but also run adobe premiere and/or handbrake and never needed 64gb of ram to do it all. But hey to each his own I guess!!

I appreciate the help Justin, thank you. I returned the Mobo to Fry's and bought an ASRock x370 fatality k4 from Microcenter. While chatting with some of the employees from Microcenter, they mentioned that they too have received an abnormal amount of returns of the Asus prime Mobo. Hopefully Asus gets their s#$# together soon.

Well I usually wait a bit to put all my parts together and start my build but I think I will get it done asap soon as my motherboard shows up Wed. That ways if its bad I can RMA it or get a different motherboard.
This is the same crap everyone was going through with x99 motherboards when they came out as well.

I've been running my Ryzen 1800X with SMT disabled for now @ 4.1ghz 1.3625 (or something like that) volts. I can bump it up higher but I don't think my cooling can handle it, which is odd because the wattage output in monitoring programs seems to be the same as my 4770K @ 4.3ghz.

What's this last of the Taichi stuff? I AM THE TAICHI!

Not saying it is, but it sure looks like sabotage would look like. What kind of business just starts throwing out random BIOSes willy nilly hoping it works.

As someone who has worked in the tech field for 15 years, and has spent time at a couple Fortune 500 companies, you'd be amazed what holes companies can dig themselves into due to groupthink and what hysterical panic ensues as they try to react.

FYI for those interested. I disconnected my custom loop and I am currently running the 1800X at stock settings using a old as dirt Hyper 212+ (not EVO) gravity-mounted with TIM.

It gets up to 78C on a full-on Handbrake load and idles in the 50s (79F ambient). For comparison, under custom (overkill) water @ 4.1GHz I was seeing temps a full 20C lower...

AIO coolers or compact loops with 240mm of radiators may be the sweet spot for cooling if you plan to OC. For running stock, it looks like a high-end air cooler like a Noctua D15 would be more than sufficient.

Maybe I should have taken a closer look at the b350 motherboards like other had suggested. There are some pretty spiffy b350 boards. I kinda like the Gigabyte gaming 3 and the Asus prime plus. DIdn't even see that they were priced lower then $100 bucks. Maybe I will snag one later on as a back up unit. Was hoping for some ITX boards for a 24/7 home media server.Luckily though I am all tapped out money wise buying my CPU and X370 mobo.

So far I am happy camper. I overclocked my my Ryzen 7 1700 with my Asus B350 Plus motherboard and the latest bios. I am running 3.8ghz stable at 1.3v. Mutiplier set to 190 and divide set to 10 (do at your own discretion). I am running Fedora 25 with the 4.9 linux 64 bit kernel. I benchmarked using the Linux geekbench (measures differently than Windows) and I got results that were better than the Core i7-5960x under linux. The 6900k under linux is a little bit faster but all the tests run it at a higher frequency.
My results

Interesting, I ran my 1800x @ 4ghz with 3200mhz CL14 RAM and SMT disabled for comparison:

I thought the update had to take hours for some odd reason. Restarting during this update process is a big no-no.

RE: flashing BIOS on Asus Mobos:

From following the C6H thread [with elmor + Raja of Asus] @ OCN, flash using the utility in the Asus BIOS should take Minutes, while flashing through Windows can take hours. Flash using the Asus BIOS utility is preferred, FWIW.

My C6H from eBay is sitting in its shipping container unopened to be returned Monday when my Taichi is supposed to arrive. Alas, I'm still missing the AM4 kit from Noctua. Supposed to be here by Tues/Wed.

Feels weird not tearing the thing open to start the build.

Fuck it (pre)ordered mine 1700 on amazon they offered it for 330-345 euro , general europe price is 359-379 , i got in at 344ish. Looking at how the 1700 is increasing in price because everyone and their mother is seeing the potential overlock and limited supply, if you want a regular 1700 right now you be paying sometimes a insane 400 euro. Not really in a hurry , I can wait a month. For motherboards was aiming for a gigabyte B350 gaming 3 , not decided yet.
Lookign forward to it , might be the first time that i want to OC something.

Update : and since not decided on board , not decided on memory

Ordered a Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 cooler. Because why not!

I want to see first hand if it handles 4.0GHz-4.1GHz OC with some room to spare. If so, I will store away my water cooling gear for future max OC attempts when BIOS matures and/or new steppings come out

I am using Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4, but I get following temperature readings
Motherboard ASUS B350 Prime Plus

BIOS : ~68 °C
Ryzen Master : 56 °C
ASUS Dual Intelligent Processors 5 Dashboard : ~68 °C

Inconsistencies everywhere. The fan control is messed up because of this and the cooler is running at high rpms. I checked the thermal paste and the heat sink and it is very cool.

I am interested in knowing if the NH-D15 SE-AM4 uses the original D15 design or the offset D15S design. I hedged and bought the D15S to make sure I didn't get the older design.
