I think you will like it. I decided not to order it and still wait for my Taichi. The 2x PCIe 2.0 on the second M.2 was a killer for me.

I am sure I will like it.
That will be my 5th different board for Ryzen builds

I've been running the x370 without issue for about a week my only gripe is it will only run my 3200 rated ram at 2400. So I ordered the only 3200 kit on the qvl list I'm curious to see what it'll run at

Everyone that is waiting for the AsRock X370 Taichi should also keep an eye on the Asrick Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming.

The latter is almost identical except for having a few extra components.

Once again, AsRock seems to be the best when it comes to BIOS support - all of their boards have now enabled support for changing the RAM timings though the latest beta BIOS.

Yeaa. Let us know how it goes. I will wait until may uefi update to make decision. Perhaps 3400/3600 will be possible at 1.35 on some ram.

Well, the high end ATX boards are obviously not the only ones manufacturers are having issues delivering. My MSI B350M Mortar order just got pushed back another week. Hooray! If this keeps going, I'll end up with an ITX board sooner than expected. The Asus Prime series is pretty much the only thing in stock anywhere I look.

Meanwhile, the X370 Prime is like a Dell OEM board or something in terms of BIOS options. You can't even disable SMT or HPET from within the BIOS, and the latest official BIOS is 2 weeks old. Oh well, at least it has been stable for me...

Can you change all timings or just the main 4 or 5?
Unfortunately, I can't find any more details at the moment.

One cool thing about the X370 Taichi(an the Pro Gaming as well) is that it allows you to set custom P-states.

Why not get a proper external dac/amp? That way you avoid EMI noise from inside your case, and often get better components to boot. Sennheiser launched a series that's been very well recieved just recently: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/gaming-amplifiers-accessories
Supposedly they have great audio quality, good surround emulation (if you want it), and a few (actually useful!) extra features. Given that it's external, it'll last you as long as USB and Windows is a thing, too, no matter what form factor your next 1, 2, 5 or whatever PCs are.

I saw those while I was looking at sound cards. TBH, I have a small desk and I want to avoid the extra clutter, so I'm going to try an internal sound card first. Otherwise I would give one a try.

There are also incredibly cheap USB "sound cards" like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Alum...qid=1489507814&sr=1-7&keywords=usb+sound+card

You should never buy a sound card from any of the computer sound card companies or any audio device with gaming in the name of it. Almost all of it is repackaged, off the self white label design. It's overpriced garbage compared to what you get from dedicated audio companies. Many budget audio enthusiasts get themselves a Schiit Magni2 /Modi 2 stack. The portable Fulla 2 was also recently released. A steal @ $99.

Man when are these Asrock Taichis coming into stock? Keeping the faith over here.

Yeah, tempted by the X370 Killer SLI, but want to hold out for the Taichi since that one is sort of confirmed to support ECC.

Sorry, old news, see the previous page. And some got it, but most of us are waiting on the Taichi still
Oops.. Sorry, I just seen that it was back in stock and posted before heading to bed last night. Didn't have a chance to read through the last couple of pages yesterday, was a pretty busy day yesterday.

Anyways my Asus Hero VI Board should be here today. "Very Excited", but nervous and scared at the same time that I may get a bricked unit.Hope that is not the case though.
Good lord could today go any slower? I swear the last hour,to hour and a half of my life feels like it has been a full day already.

My Crossair is also arriving today. Not going to lie, if this board is DOA or dies from a failed update (that isn't my fault ) then I'll likely be sending everything back to Newegg and wait a couple months for all this nonsense to be sorted out. AMD made a great chip but they are getting screwed over for being the little guy.

a) Sennheiser is not a "computer sound card company", they're first and foremost a professional audio (studio, broadcast, airline, that kind of thing) company with a very serious side business in mid-to-high-end headphones (including what's widely regarded as the best headphones ever made, the HD800/800s (besides, they're known for providing excellent audio in the $50 range too)).
b) Sennheiser have been "branching out" into gaming for a few years, bringing their microphone and headphone expertise into high-end gaming territory - and have been met with universal praise. Their G4ME One/Zero (open-back gaming headphones? What?) line have some of the best audio and mic quality you can get. Although tuned differently than their hi-fi headphones (duh, if they didn't they wouldn't be a serious audio company ...), they sound amazing.
c) They would be utterly crazy to repackage some whitebox sh*t and put their brand on it. The Sennheiser brand stands for high quality audio. Their fans would run away screaming if they didn't deliver. Also, whitebox sh*t generally doesn't have 0-48KHz frequency response with .005% THD and support for 150 Ohm headphones, nor does it decode 96KHz, 24-bit audio. Just saying.

Also, I did bring up getting a more serious dac/amp without all the gaming clutter too (if you bothered reading two posts past the one you quoted me on ...).

Oh, and Buying a separate DAC and AMP (like the Magni 2+Modi 2 combo) is definitely not something for a small desk. The Fulla would probably be okay, but the NuForce uDac3 I have is a lot smaller still - and can be tucked away nicely thanks to not having that huge top-mounted volume knob.

Other than that, I generally agree with your point. Most "gaming" audio products are sh*t. Razer might be the most horrible offender here (their Kraken headphones are some of the worst garbage I've ever listened to), but generally it's bad. Just don't dismiss "gaming" products from extremely serious audio companies. You might be surprised.
