not a fan of the newer swift AIO units... but those blocks are awesome. I got mine configured in the custom loop sporting red. looks slick.

MSI posted another BIOS for my board... v1.2 claiming improved memory compatibility. we'll see how that goes later

Anyone have any luck going higher than 2667Mhz with Double Sided Memory DIMMs? I'm running an AsRock Fatal1ty X370 Pro Gaming motherboard with G.Skill 3000 rated memory (2x16) 32GB @ 14-14-14-34. I had to upgrade the bios to beta 1.54 for OCing and memory speeds this high. Didn't want to spend a lot of time messing with Memory settings, since I was planning to add a 2nd set for a total of 64GB. Seems the full set of 4 can still run at 2667Mhz @ 14-14-14-34 and 1.35v. Would like to get to 2933Mhz, but doubt that will be possible with a 4x16GB setup...

Any thoughts?

Btw, this Mobo has TONS of features and $20+20 rebate until the end of the Month (they add $20 for putting a review on Newegg.com) OCed no problem to 4.0Ghz with a Ryzen 1700, but I am running 1.392v just to make sure it's stable... I had it go blank screen and needing reboot when doing a heavy duty transcoding session, but I was still fiddling with the system too. I'll have to Reinstall Win10 to my Evo 960; I had installed to a SanDisk Ultra 240 SSD but after loading some pgms and x64 codecs (and trying to get Media Center from previous versions running on Win10) I some how have completely screwed the print spooler or printing subsystem. Can't print to any printers or even through a PDF writer that prints to PDF files...

Currently running:
AsRock Fatal1ty X370 Pro Gaming (bios v1.54)
Ryzen 1700 with H100i (orig. version) cooler (top mounted)
2 sets of G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB DDR4 3000 Model F4-3000C14D-32GTZ (64GB total)
2xPowerColor290s *waiting for Vega*
500GB Evo 960 NVMe (soon to be OS drive)
240GB Sandisk Ultra SSD
5TB Toshiba X300 HDD
Cosair AX1200 P.S.
all in a Rosewell THOR case, which as plenty of room.

Do the memory speed/timings on the profile differ from what you set in the BIOS? The Ryzen Master profile only reads the memory timings on the first start up. If you change the speed/timings in the BIOS they will not update to the saved profile(s). You need to manually match them up. Changing the core voltage and clock speed are live changes and should never require a reboot.

So I found I can run my memory @ 3200 if I slacken the timings to 16-16-16-16-36. However, it's definitely not stable. It doesn't crash or anything, but things just aren't as smooth. I was having issues with videos playing too. Went back to 2933 @ CL 14. All normal. Come on BIOS updates!
Memory the entire time was 1467 or 2933 mhz. Its the CPU that was going nuts.

Ya I wouldn't buy their newer stuff. Too many quality issues on the forums. I'd go with the newer EK MLC AIO once they are released.

I'm confused. Why are you using Ryzen Master then?

Probably adjusting memory timings or frequency via RM.

I have 4x8 of Patriot Memory VIPER 4 2666MHz (PV416G266C5K). If I run all 4 the best I can do on my Asus c6h is ~83Mhz over 2666; if I take out two of them I can hit 2933 no problem,

Yeah, buy my guess is those 8GB memory sticks are only single sided, which puts less of a load on the memory controller, which is why AMD guarantees speeds of 1866 or 2133 with 4 x (DS) Double-Sided (UDIMMs) Unregistered DIMMs installed. So the question isn't so much what speed can you get with four memory slots full, but 4 memory slots filled with (DS) Doubled-Sided Memory

I'm about 95% sure they are double-sided.

Ryzen master I trust for temps, and after bios, I can tweak the vcore or multiplier if I want to.

I am using F4-3200C16D-32GVK, got it cheap a few months ago, 4x16GB double-sides hynix based Ram, on Asus c6h BIOS 1002, try all version after 0902. The max the RAM can post is DDR2400 using the memory drop down menu, loosening latency does not help.

Then I tried raising the ref clock to 120 and it's 2 hours Asus Realbench stable at 2880 16-18-18-18-38 2T, cannot do 2904 using the std DOCP preset for 2904, so I am going to raise it from 120 and see when it will stop posting.

My observation is that if Ryzen Master wants you to reboot it's because something you set does not match what is currently running in the BIOS. Be that by your hand or by a buggy BIOS I don't know. Personally my use pattern is to set RAM in the BIOS and set the CPU OC with Ryzen Master.

Build I'm thinking about purchasing: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=31938586

Mainly used for 4K video editing with some gaming:

Ryzen 1700 $329
Asus Prime X370-Pro $159
Phanteks Eclipse P400S $89
G.Skill FlareX 32GB (2x16GB) 2400 $232 (try to overclock this to 2900 with looser timings)
EVGA Modular Supernova 750 GOLD $89
Toshiba OCZ RD400 M.2 512GB $269
Refurbished EVGA GTX1070 $349
Coolermaster MaserLiquid 240 (fits AM4 socket) $89
Transfer 1TB Mushkin SSD and 2TB Western Digital Blue HDD from my old rig to here.
Total: $1612

How does it look?

Just FYI I have this combo and under the initial BIOS 0504, the RD400 would fail to be recognized on every restart. It required cold boot to detect it again. With the latest BIOS 0511, it has been detected perfectly every time.

I had that memory initially. Note that it's dual rank and I couldn't get over 2400 on my Asus X70-Pro board with them and went for TridentZ instead. They may post better speeds at some point with updates but for now if you're fine with 2400, then go for it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but when I was on an Intel platform, I never had to worry about whether the memory is single or dual rank, how many DIMM are being used, what brand of memory chip is used, etc.

Thanks, I would be booting from old Sata SSD first (only 250GB used) and then cloning over the OS from it to the M.2 drive. So I should do a bios update immediately after turning it on.

New platform and all the memory modules out there have only been tested with Intel up until now. This means memory manufacturers have already done the work and hand-picked the appropriate memory chips etc. for the advertised speed with Intel. But the requirements for Ryzen are different.
The mess should clear up within a few months.

Both X58 and early X99 (not sure about now) are/were extremely picky about RAM. I personally I had a ton of issues on X58. RAM compatibility is always a problem on new platforms.

OK, thanks.

It would be A LOT EASIER and CONVENIENT if the memory makers would just STATE this on there memory DIMMs or packages, especially since this is how they are referred to in motherboard manuals when talking about expected speeds with memory modules. Most times you can't even find this information on a DIMM makers website for the Product No.
What a PITA.

Went and bought a second B350 motherboard today. Not sure if its any good but got the Gigabyte AB350 gaming 3.So when ever Newegg gets off there butts and sends me my replacement CPU I will hopefully have a working system. They got the RMA CPU back last Thursday and it is just now showing return accepted. Anyways now I have the Asrock B350 Professional Gaming and the Gigabyte Gaming 3.One of these suckers better post knock on wood!!
To the User UX12 above, I have several x58 motherboards and none of them are picky about ram.
What motherboard are you using?Maybe need to update the bios or something?

Yup, thats pretty much what I am doing. But in bios, if I know the CPU is definitely good to a point I save that.
