Even though the title says Vulkan, it also improves performance in OpenGL. I changed the CPU governor to performance mode. The difference is substantial. Lag in dolphin games is gone. Linux Ryzen users, change your cpu governor. I will rerun geekbench on linux

How are you liking that Gigabyte Gaming 3 motherboard? Is it working correctly without issue's?Any lockups or bios issue's with it?

It's been solid outside of memory clocks for me. Expect to run at DDR4-2400 with loose timings if you have dual-rank DIMMs (e.g. 2x16GB or cheap 2x8GB dual-rank). I have a set of Flare X 3200 en route so I will see if it becomes plug and play (or if any newer BIOS updates fix memory compatibility).

No problem OCing to 4GHz on either 1700 or 1800X.
No problems with lockups or BIOS (outside of when I ran timings too tight on memory, see above).

It was the only B350 board with the ALC1220 audio codec. This might be my favorite onboard sound codec yet.

I might not even bother upgrading to X370 because this board is inexpensive and does everything I need it to do (for now).

I know somebody is going to say, "You have to look at the sticker that said 1Rx4, 2Rx4, or 2Rx8", but I mean aside from that.

CPUZ will tell you. Of course that doesn't do you any good, if you are trying to buy it. Your best bet might be to pester the Memory manufacturer. That's what I did with my GSkill TridentZ.

Thanks for the reply, that is really good news to hear. I have felt so uneasy since the whole ordeal with the C6H bricking.Have been heavily thinking about returning everything and going Kabylake route but thought I would giver her one more shot. I hope this time all goes as planned. Heck I am not even looking to overclock I just want my system to post and to and boot into windows and be stable.Sorry dont mean to complain, but you would think after spending $1000 bucks, the stuff you bought would work.I know the same thing happened to Intel when they released x99 but I dont remember it being quite this bad.

I've had memory compatibility issues every time I've been an early adopter of a new platform, whether Intel or AMD. Compatibility improves with time.

Observed memory compatibility:

* eVGA DDR4-3000 CL16 has run at 2933 stable in every single board I have used (Asus Prime AB350 plus, AsRock AB350 Pro4, AsRock X370 Killer SLI/ac, AsRock X370 Fatal1ty K4 and Biostar B350 Racing GT5)

* In contrast, G-skill Trident Z DDR4-3200 CL16 cannot make it past DDR4-2666 in ANY of those boards... yet.
Need to tweak it more.

* G-Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 CL16, the cheap one, runs in some boards at DDR4-3000 (Fatal1ty K4), in others at DDR4-2667 (Pro 4)

ALL the kits have been 16GB (2 x 8GB) so 2 DIMMs at 8GB each.
The Trident-Z was a 32GB kit (4 x 8GB) but I split it between 2 PCs, so still 16GB (2 x 8GB) per PC.

You may want to mention capacities there as that would make a big difference in what they are. Some TridentZ 3200 16Gb DIMMs are dual rank but some 8Gb DIMMS are single rank for example.

Specific model numbers are needed.

I'll add the specific model numbers tonight.
In the meantime, I can say all the kits are 16GB kits (2 x 8GB) so each dimm is 8GB

Adding to the confusion, my Corsair LPX 3000's aren't supposed to work at anything over 2400 but here I am running them at 2933 since day 1.

As you can see, people are getting anywhere from 2133 to 2933 with this RAM:

I get 2667 on the same ram 2x8gb at 16 15 15 15 35 62 on asus b350m

But i guess your trc is 69 right? And 16 15 15 15 35 69

Clearly its a profiling mess. It will be sorted out. Perhaps this ram will even run 3200 at trc 75. Hopefully we will know in may.

I picked it up on 3/6/2017. Still waiting on the Taichi to be in stock somewhere.

1700 sitting pretty @ 3.7ghz with the new BIOS. RAM works fine at 2933 so I'm crossing my fingers the full speed works. will post back with my results.

Oh, and my Radeon settings work again... I think an OS update broke it.

I'd like to add a follow up question to the above question.

If you wanted to run 32GB of RAM, would the RAM run faster as 8GB*4 single sided or 16GB*2 double sided?

Just make sure you do the update in the BIOS via USB drive, not from the windows application

Only a problem with the ASUSauto-update or windows update. A USB stick update using BIOS to do it should be fine, even with ASUS MB.

Well, your 1700x is $379. I just got one from newegg for $369 (sales ends today)

Both X58 and early X99 (not sure about now) are/were extremely picky about RAM. I personally I had a ton of issues on X58. RAM compatibility is always a problem on new platforms.

Same here, on both those platforms. It was and sometimes still is a nightmare.
