Eh well i been there . . . I actually benched R11.5 and R15 @ 4075 MHz using Ryzen Master. Now I can do it in the UEFI, that's all. Plus no more manually resetting the UEFI if/when I have to push the reset button on the back.

Yes there's definitely some disparity with chips on the C16's. Mine are definitely Samsung and working much better than some other C16s with almost identical model numbers.
Yes, also it seems 16 GB samsung modules are definitely rev D, while 8 GB can be either B ( single rank) or D (dual rank). This apparently is not reflected in the serial no.

You have to take the serial no and contact g skill or take the heatspreader off and google the ID datasheet

Well if you have the DIMMs you can tell by looking at them how many chips under the spreaders and whether they're double sided or not. My TridentZ only have chips on 1 side.

Yes that is true. but I'm not sure they would let me do that in online store the most they do is give you the batch no or partial serial no.

Okay. I managed to find a g skill serial number decoding scheme to identify the chiip inside it. It correctly identified my chips to be samsung. Aalso read somewhere that all C14 are samsung. Cannot confirm that, but will explain why some with C16 is having problems.

G.Skill serial numbers always start with the year and week, for example 913 is the 13th week of 2009 while 1240 is the 40th week of 2012. Pretty straightforward.

After that there are four digits which stand for different ICs/manufacturers:

AB40 - Samsung/Hynix (seems to be both, only used for a short time)
000x - Hynix (only on samples?)
0000

x10x - Nanya eTT/uTT
2100
x15x - ??? eTT/uTT
2150
x20x - Powerchip/PSC (sometimes eTT/uTT)
1200
x30x - Micron
3300
x40x - Hynix
1400/2400/3400
x50x - Samsung
1500/2500/250B
x60x - SpecTek (/Micron)
1600
x80x - Elpida
0800/1800
3800 MxH-E Hyper

Hopefully it will be helpful to some

Thank you!
This explains why some with the Trident Z kits are having an easy time (DDR4-3200 CL14) while those of use with the CL16 kits are having a rough time.
Using that decoder my kits are Hynix
Still single rank, but Hynix (1641A400xxx)

Let's wait for further UEFI optimizations

Going to stack cash for 3 months then be all in with an optimized config. So much extra performance coming through week by week.

ROG Brick VI Hero is back in stock:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132963

(Was mostly a joke - the board is probably solid now once you flash 1002 BIOS)
Na.. I'm good and will steer clear of that nightmare. One horrible day with that board is enough for me.
Looks like I missed out on the TaiChi at newegg again. Darn Charter internet was out all yesterday and didn't come back online till about 20 mins ago. I did get my r7 1800x from Fed-ex yesterday but was to lazy to get it all put together.besides with the internet being out I couldn't get my free windows 7 upgrade to windows 10.Anyone have a link to Windows 10 ISO from M/S so I could have one to burn to disc as a back up seeing how I already have a Key? If not its fine I can just do the free upgrade. Yes I know the standard download version has been taken down but there is another version for assistive users.

For everyone struggling with trying to get your ram to operate at its rated speed apparently in real world applications the impact of 2133 vs 3200 ram on performance is pretty minimal in most cases according to this analysis. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Ryzen_Memory_Analysis/
Games at 1080p do show a difference and in some games the difference is very significant. A lot of reviews over-emphasized low resolution gaming - faster memory will make a (perceived) difference here.

Didn't say there was no difference. I said the difference was minimal in most cases which it is. Faster memory will not make a perceived difference except in benchmark graphs. The widest delta in framerates in the gaming 1080 tests was 12 fps with 3-4 others registering in the 9s out of 17 games tested. I seriously doubt anyone will be to perceive the difference between fps 72 vs 81. My point wasn't to say there is no difference which I never did but that the impact is pretty minimal to the point of being essentially insignificant in everyday use. Considering a roughly 30% frequency boost will only net you a single digit percentage performance gain I would have to say again faster will not make a perceived difference except in benchmark graphs and only in a very small percentage of those.

The package indicator-cpufreq enables Linux users to graphically set their CPU governor. If you have a Ryzen processsor and are running linux then you should set the CPU governor to performance. The Ondemand Governor is the default governor and it switches between base 1.5ghz and whatever the maximum frequency is. This frequency switching creates latency in games or emulators such as Dolphin. Also if you are using Linux, use a development build of Dolphin and use the Vulkan API. Vulkan enables better performance and multi threaded workloads.
If you are Fedora user use cpufreq-selector.

Are you not on the kit AMD listed on its "Gaming tip" page? F4-3200C16D-16GTZx?

That means AMD listed a hynix ram as a Samsung B. I have also read somewhere that the Corsair V5.x that AMD recommended was also hynix. what are they doing?

Note that they list GTZR as Samsung. Not just GTZ[insert letters]. The non-RGB equivalent of those are GTZB which is what I've got and they're Samsung.

Also for the Corsair they list v5.39 specifically, as v5.30 are not Samsung for example.

.
Sorry, I am not sold on that.
I thought it was a color code. TZR would be trident z RBG series. Only one color so all of them have the same code. but I do not know what B stands for. But Nothing to do with IC according to g skill FAQ, which is a little dated:
Series:
VR / VB / VK / VS / VG = Ripjaws V (Red / Blue / Black / Silver / Gunmetal Gray)
RR / RB / RK = Ripjaws 4 (Red / Blue / Black)
XL / XM / XH = RipjawsX
ZL / ZM / ZH = RipjawsZ
RL / RM / RH = Ripjaws
TZ = Trident Z
TX = TridentX
TD = Trident

Additional Trident Z Color:
TZ = Classic Trident Z, Dual Black&Silver body w/ Red top-bar
TZSW = Silver body w/ White top-bar
TZSK = Silver body w/ Black top-bar
TZKW = Black body w/ White top-bar
TZKO = Black body w/ Orange top-bar
TZKY = Black body w/ Yellow top-bar

Edit: The last thing we would like to discuss before proceeding with our inspection is a sister model, which has a part number of F4-3200C16Q-16GTZB. The only difference between it and our kit lies in weaker primary timings: 16-18-18-38 versus 16-16-16-36.
