Thanks for the info guys, that is a bummer. No need really for a NVMe because I already own 2 ssd's.
I just seen that optane was supposed to boost performance so I was thinking I could use every little speed bump I can get. What ever though, no biggie..

NVME or bust for OS drive at least. MyDigitalSSD has a great pricepoint

Yah I want one for both my systems at this point. Just waiting for deals. I try not to buy anything not on a very good sale/deal at the time of purchase. Which is why it may take me a bit to finish the build.

It pretty much does nothing for SSD's, only hard disk drives mate.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I noticed that Asrock put out a new BIOS this morning. Version 2.30, 2.50 and 2.20.

http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?cat=BIOS

I also noticed a new BIOS for my Prime B350 Plus saying 'SummitPI-AM4 1.0.0.4a'

PRIME B350-PLUS BIOS 0609
Improve memory stability

I didn't notice any changes. System was solid as usual.
CPUZ got updated to 1.79 and reported VID correctly now. I think it is the BIOS.
I am now stable at 3850 MHz @ 1.325 V

I am looking for an RGB AM4 AIO Cooler, any suggestions for me, in EU?

Now you guys have me getting paranoid about my 10 year old Enermax Infinity.

Don't mean to get people upset, but a quality PSU is a cornerstone for every good PC build. It's best to never cut corners with a PSU and always best to get a good brand. (like Seasonic)
I have four PCs here and two of them have older PSUs in them. (four years old now) I haven't bought new for them, but the components in them are also three or four years old as well.
Both of my newer systems have new, and one of those was a replacement for a PSU that failed and had to be RMA'd.

Corsair TX650W built by Seasonic

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article813-page1.html

10 years later and it's still working.

The only problem I see it that the atx 12v connector is 4 pin for that PSU. I took a quick look at the X370 Taichi and it requires an 8 pin connector (common for modern enthusiast CPUs). You may be able to PCIe 8 pin power connector from you current PSU. I don't remember if the 8 pin 12v CPU connector and 8 pin PCIe connector deliver the same amps (I would think so - doubt they use different gauge wire, but don't know for sure).

Hmm, no update for the Taichi. The latest UEFI rev (2.0) for my board dates back to 4/6/2017. Maybe it just took ASRock this long to roll out 1.0.0.4a for the rest of their boards?

Seems to mostly be a minor/cosmetic update anyways. The next big AGESA update is coming in May so I'm sure there will be more activity then.

Could it be your uneven timings? (by that I mean odd numbers not even numbers)

I'm sure I heard somewhere that over a certain memory speed you need even numbered timings, ie change the 17's to 18's and the 35 to 36.

Do your own further research on that though before trying, don't just take my word for it as I could be completely wrong.

It actually has a 4+4.

I know this because it's plugged into my Gigabyte GA-AX370 Gaming K7 right now.

In fact, if you look at this photo, you can see it.

It's the bottom cable.

I think it's just the CAS latency that needs to be even numbers, and if you try to select uneven values it will change them automatically (C15 becomes C16 etc.). However it doesn't hurt to play around with the timings. I use 16-16-16-36.

How are these SSDs different?

Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 2.5" 1TB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDRE1TB

At first I thought that the first two SSDs are the same with a minor typo, but benchmarks show that to clearly not be the case.

Different NAND chips. Which will have different power and performance characteristics.

Edit:
MKNSSDRE1TB - 2014 model
Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller
Micron 128Gbit 16nm MLC

MKNSSDRE960GB - 2017 model
Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller
Unknown MLC NAND (couldn't find it)
Either different chips or more overprovisioning versus 2014 model, or both.

MKNSSDEC1TB - March 2017 model
Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller
Unknown MLC NAND (couldn't find it)

Hello,
Finally got my 1700 but right at the start faced very strange problem. CPU-Z shows that core speed is only ~1550MHz. I have tried without overclocking, without any power saving options, no Cool&Quiet or any other extra CPU features. Bios shows that memory is running 3200MHz and also 3700MHz CPU when clocked, but everytime I boot to Windows10 CPU-Z, MSI tools, Ryzen Master shows only around 1550MHz. I have tried to use Ryzen Master for clocking but it doesn't change the situation. CPU temperature is around 40C and all voltages are set to auto on BIOS. Installed fresh Windows twice. Windows shows in System information that the processors is 3,7GHz but when tested Cinebench got terrible bad score ~500. Am I just plain stupid not to understand something or where the problem is?

MSI B350 Mortar Arctic with latest BIOS
2x8GB G.Skill Trident CL14 3200MHz
M.2 Crucial 525GB
MSI Armor RX580

Same result when using Linux. Seems that it was MSI's BIOS problem: A.20 bios and the newest A.30 caused this but when rolling back to A.10 the full speed came available on OS. Very strange, never seen this kind of problem, way to go MSI. On the other hand memory support is very good, 3200MHz just with first try.

Has anyone with the Asus C6H managed to get the Ryzen Balanced Power Plan to work?

I've installed it and the thing just won't show up.

just curious, but are you able to OC on Auto VCore? my Vcore and CID gets stuck at 1.23v when i manually change the freq with ryzen 5. I am on mortar but i have this on both 1.2 and 1.3 BIOS. did not try older revisions.
