Wow and people thought the exploding Duron was fun to watch!

Ryzen: Explosive performance!
Holy cow, that scared the crap out of me when he removed that heatsink and the cpu exploded. I had my speaker up trying to see what he was doing. I thought he was going to hit.4.0ghz with a better cooler then boom. I think my heart skipped a beat..

Nothing fake about it. AMD was late to the game with thermal protection for their CPUs.

Watch the video the other guy linked. Somehow a CPU exploding upwards out of the socket punches an exact sized hole in the table below it. It's fake. What he posted was not a "oh no, it melted" type video like LTC8K6 posted.

Cool trolly fake video, bro.

It was, wasn't it? Actually it was a parody of a Tom's Hardware video about the same phenomenon.

The hilarious part was that Durons didn't hit 4 GHz, or anything close to it.

They don't explode and the hole drilled in the motherboard (including obvious drill notches) are pretty obvious

Predrilled hole, fire crackers and cheesy dialogue.

I killed an Athlon 1GHz back in the day.

It gave up the magic smoke, but not so much as a pop from it.

Fake video is fake.

First lets look at some information:
http://www.nextbigfuture.com/2016/11/amd-apu-roadmap-to-7-nanometers-in-2019.html

Raven Ridge and Horned Owl are 2H 2017, yes?

Next we have BitsandChips:
http://www.bitsandchips.it/english/...two-versions-of-raven-ridge-under-development
Two versions: 4C/8T+12 CUs, no HBM2, 4C/8T+16CU's+HBM2.

What if the Mobile one, without HBM2 is the actual Raven Ridge APU, and the one with HBM2 is the Horned Owl?

That way it can markup in server, professional, embedded, machine learning market, for HBM2 increased cost, of the package. And anyway, we are not looking at cheap NPU, the HBM2 version will cost at least 299$.

Wait. Snowy Owl = AM4???? Are we going to be able to run one of these things on our x370 motherboards?

Yes. AM4 is a unified socket for APUs and CPUs, there are some AM4 boards (even high end x370 ones) with video outputs. If it's AM4 it should work. One of those APUs would be 4 Zen cores + SMT (equivalent to a mainstream 4C8T i7) and a beefy Vega GPU. That will be powerful.

It remains to be seen what Vega is capable of, being the first almost total redesign of GCN after six years.

Doubt it. WCCFTech tends to be wrong even with clear cut information.

If it's intended for servers, it will be based on whatever platforms Naples sits on.

I swear that someone is going to buy the Ryzen 3 1200X or whatever because it's cheaper than what Intel is offering then after assembling the computer realizes that there's no video.

After that, he's going to write nasty reviews because something is obviously wrong with the motherboard/processor.

Over at sweclockers forum people think zen+ is 7nm, i told them that zen+ is still 14nm but they say that 7nm is in 2018. I told them 2020. I get downvoted but i am pretty sure i am the correct one here.

Ryzen is 4 years, as AMD puts it Tock Tock Tock, so uArch improvement three in a row, then a shrink to 7nm which would be a Tick.
