What's going on with this company?
They slashed their revenue projections plus 32nm yield issues plus possibly delayed AMD 7000 series plus no Bulldozer equals sad investors.
. What AMD should do though is focus more on marketing and passing themselves as being the "hip" card to own. Personally, I care more about what is under the hood but these days the "trendy" nerds all seem to care about having the stylish stuff. This is one area Nvidia has beat AMD and by extension ATI in every single generation.
this is simply not true. No companie have massive market share over the other.
(well, just nvidia have a huge lead at professional market, but amd is stealing like 1-2% of market share per quarter)
What's going on with this company?
Yes there are things going on. AMD announced they already know 3rd quarter revenue is going to be substantially down. Here is why IMHO, it's because in prior projections they have been announcing and starting to figure in 32nm cpu revenue. Imo, this is going to carry on, because there is not going to be much immediate BD server revenue, which was also mentioned in earlier quarterly reports, as to where future revenue was coming from.there's nothing going on, that's the problem.

There is a huge difference where Nvidia is and AMD is right now. AMD stock is now at it's 52 week low and this is repercussions of Llano production. I can only imagine how the Bulldozer situation is going to shake out. That's why you need to watch it over time and not start threads like this over 1 week, they've both been lower in the past then they are now,i remember Nvidia was down around 8 dollars and rebounded to 25.I remember there were threads here about the the stocks and the death of Nvidia
AMD (NYSE:AMD) shares are getting crushed after issuing revised and lower guidance for its 3Q, saying gross margins are expected to be in the range 44-45% against the previously expected 47%. Also, revenue will expand by just 4-6% quarter-over-quarter, instead of the earlier guidance of 8-12%.
The downshift in guidance is due to problems with its 32 nm line at a German plant which caused bottlenecks in the supply of Llano. The Llano product and its associated products enjoy better sales realizations. AMD is working with GlobalFoundries, the German partner to resolve these problems.
AMDs (NYSE:AMD) stock is trading at $5.46 today, down 11.22%. Shares are down 15.52% in one year. The stocks trading range for the year is between $5.46 and $9.58.
