If we see performance between a 780 and Titan, at a 500 dollar price tag, that would be pretty rad.

A completely new arch, especially on a new node.. a 2 year wait...I hope they are shooting for much better than this. a 7970 refresh could have done this.

With current drivers, my Titan does 4769 overall and 4959 graphics score in 3DMark Firestrike Extreme. That would put Hawaii a tiny tad in front.

definitely Hawaii is a 28nm product. 20nm is nowhere close to ready.

35 - 40% faster than HD 7970 Ghz using a 450 - 480 sq mm big die GPU and a optimized GCN architecture is very much possible. On a mature TSMC 28nm manufacturing the big die at good yields should be possible.

Yup, its a 28nm refresh, with volume to back it up so they can clear inventory with massive price drops across 7 series.

There's NO way its a 20nm product with volume to do this.

what do you mean ? performance and price both go hand in hand especially in the context of meaningful competition. if AMD matches Titan for USD 550 - 600 don't you think that GTX 780 / GTX Titan has to come down in price.

Price is a result of the market condition. Titan's performance 10months later is boring.
Titan came out 10months after the 7970ghz and offered 30-50% more performance.

Yep, and for 220% of the price. A price that made it irrelevant for 90% of the people that buys a dGPU. Halo product marketing at it's best. Things get even more sad when you think that the first product that showed Titan's irrelevancy was another one from the same company (780, almost same performance but for 65% of the price). For blind fanboys they will say the 780 is underpriced, for everyone else and their dog the Titan was the one overpriced.

Now we finally can have a Titan-like performer for the price we are accoustomed to see for flagships GPUs.

He posts prices to random things in all of his posts. I'm surprised he didn't link to some random card on Newegg.

Lets get to the facts. If AMD releases a new GPU lineup this year, it will be on 28nm. If it matches Titan's performance, it will not be $500.

That is called being realistic.
