What is the status of the steam machine?
Or due to implement Mantle ...Delayed into 2015 due to ongoing work on their game pad.
Or due to implement Mantle ...
I like Valve but if they really want a gaming OS, than they must implement a developer-friendly API. I have talked many devs (mostly my friends) about this, and the number one barrier to make a Linux port is OpenGL.
Seems unlikely valve would delay their steambox for something amd hasn't even started working on.
Well if they want big Triple-A titles on SteamOS, than they must beg AMD to create a Mantle implementation for Linux. Probably they are already doing this with several other developers.Seems unlikely valve would delay their steambox for something amd hasn't even started working on.
What a total waste of engineering resources.
Nobody want OpenGL. It's a broken API, with broken tools and broken support. And neither has Valve started working with Mantle, their games are still openGL based and we have no announcements suggesting they are going to change that.
What is the status of the steam machine?
As a result of Valve's corporate structure, everyone who was working on it lost interest and stopped because someone brought in a really cute dog and everyone wanted to play with it. They announced a series of games based off of the dog, but rumor has it that someone in accounting just got a new moped so maybe that won't be finished either.
