Mind you I wouldn't be saying this if this discussion was kept at an intelligent level and tone, as opposed to "BUY THIS PROCESOSR. ITS BETTER."
See the all-encompassing quote in sig.
Edit: Here's the quote (from michaelpatrick33) just in case I change my sig:
"For the love of God, they are microprocessor companies not the Lords of the Silicon realm who rule our lives with the mailed fists of frequency and L2 swords from Yamhill or the CLawhammers of Venice."

Beings how I like this thread lets go somewhere else with it.
It seem that Sony is mad at Microsoft and Nintendo because they won't call there game consols computers.
Come on Sony baby go go go . you build PS3 and sell them at a loss so you can sell more games .
If I can hook a keyboard to it and a mouse and it will function with anO/P system installed like a real computer I want 1 for $300.
Intel and AMD are done IBM well be only 1 selling CPU'S Ati is gone Nividia is the only 1 left.
Sony goes bankrupt because there selling supercomputers for $300. And not selling enough games because people are using them as PC'S not gamer.
This comes from a Jap. company with an american CEO.(Sony get rid of your CEO lol)
Sony is really being silly here but whatever.

Maybe you could help me understand why there is so much need to feel superior by the purchasing of non-living (except in the broadest quantum esoteric Hindu sense) external products that in no way speaks to the innate beauty that each of us contains within our hearts and souls.
I like a good debate as much as the next man, but these threads actually make me nervous about the state of minds of those who are replying with such fanaticism on both sides of the silicon aisle.
It is sand, people. We are bascially ready to kill each other over sand? I guess the middle east does reflect the silicon "wars." :brokenheart:
Edit: forgot the word "way" (how ironic in a Judeo Christian sense) in the first paragraph.

Why don't you start by posting proof of your own currently baseless "information"? Maybe if you started supplying evidence to support these wild-assed "observations," people would hate you a little less...Originally posted by: Dothan

Nothing beats Pentiums speed, Everything beats it's performance.....lol
Anyways You Intel guys can argue all day about speed and availability of chips and so forth but the bottom line is that the Prescott core is crap unless it's running at 4 ghz. plus.
The Pentium D is nothing but 2 Prescotts glued together running at a slower speed which = crap. Now to be fair The Dothan core Pentium M is an aweseome processor. In fact I would love to have one. Intel made a mistake with Prescott, and until they have a mainstream desktop processor thats not based on the Prescott core I'll stick with AMD.

I know you can preorder them and wait and I don't know any that are sold right now just preorders whats the big deal its a good cpu . I personnally have not read anywere that the X2 is having yield problems. But I well state that AMD is toning things down a bit there could be problems in the father land. but I still don't see the issue.
First off with M2 and DDR2 coming in 1st quarter 06 I just can't see A lot of these being sold Amd says maybe 10,000 units . Thats believable . On the other side of fence Intel says they well sell 1'000,000 units in 05 . If thats true some one should go to prison for commenting fraud on the American people because this dually sucks thats just the plain and simple truth of the matter.

Stupid troll, you were the same idiot that posted in a thread talking about how awesome the Intel Dual Cores were and how Intel was warranting oc'd cpu's from Dell and Velocity Micro. WTF!!! Could you be anymore pathetic. Which is it? Intel dual cores sucks like in your above quote or what you said below?
Here's your quote on how a Pentium 840 Extreme oc'd to 4ghz would cream a X2(but now you say that they suck and a X2 is better, WTF Psycho!!!):
" Hold the phones on another front
Last year, Intel admitted that shipping 4GHz processors would be more difficult than it previously believed. The current top-of-the-line Pentium 4 Extreme Edition maxes out at 3.73GHz; the Pentium 4 model 570J ships at 3.80GHz. The recent dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition 840 is shipping at 3.2GHz. Apparently, Intel has unlocked the multiplier on the Pentium Extreme Edition 840 dual-core CPU, similar to the way AMD ships the FX series processors unlocked.
This allows small, aggressive PC companies to deliver systems at higher-than-rated clock. One such company is Velocity Micro, which is shipping its DCX dual-core systems with an innovative sealed-liquid cooling system. These systems use the Pentium Extreme Edition 840 at clock speeds ranging from the standard 3.2GHz up to a whopping 4.0GHz. So Intel may not be able to ship 4GHz parts in volume, but the chip maker is allowing some companies to ship small quantities of systems at higher clock rates
At 4.0 GHz this thing creams X2 and its a Fully warranty part.
This is faster than X2 big time so doesn't mater what it cost.
Dell is also O/C them TO 3.6 on air full Warranty.
Fully supported by Intel .
I have seen the benchies there very good!!!!
I would say times are turning bad for AMD!!1 "
