You know what amazes me? We're aruging about processors. Sure, in this kind of setting (Anandtech) it might be fun..... but heh.... in the real world, who gives a CRAP if your processor gets 5 more FPS in games? Technology will evolve, things will change, this discussion will be 100% irrelavent.

Mind you I wouldn't be saying this if this discussion was kept at an intelligent level and tone, as opposed to "BUY THIS PROCESOSR. ITS BETTER."

It seem that Sony is mad at Microsoft and Nintendo because they won't call there game consols computers.
Come on Sony baby go go go . you build PS3 and sell them at a loss so you can sell more games .
If I can hook a keyboard to it and a mouse and it will function with anO/P system installed like a real computer I want 1 for $300.
Intel and AMD are done IBM well be only 1 selling CPU'S Ati is gone Nividia is the only 1 left.
Sony goes bankrupt because there selling supercomputers for $300. And not selling enough games because people are using them as PC'S not gamer.
This comes from a Jap. company with an american CEO.(Sony get rid of your CEO lol)

Maybe you could help me understand why there is so much need to feel superior by the purchasing of non-living (except in the broadest quantum esoteric Hindu sense) external products that in no way speaks to the innate beauty that each of us contains within our hearts and souls.

I like a good debate as much as the next man, but these threads actually make me nervous about the state of minds of those who are replying with such fanaticism on both sides of the silicon aisle.

I personnally don't care when x2 arrives but it seems to me dothan is only asking of proof were you can buy a x2 now . I know you can preorder them and wait and I don't know any that are sold right now just preorders whats the big deal its a good cpu . But I well state that AMD is toning things down a bit there could be problems in the father land. but I still don't see the issue.

Dothan is bull****ing that the X2 WILL BE delayed longer than the current ETAs at major online sources, and that this somehow indicates a MAJOR PROBLEM with AMD. Unfortunately for him, the future isn't here yet, so we don't know if the X2s will arrive when AMD said they would or not. If the time passes and the X2s are delayed, then we can speculate (notice the careful choice of words: that does not mean to state with great certainty) about why, but at this point in time, Dothan is simply being a troll.

I can't believe I am posting in what has to be one of the lamest threads ever, but here goes:

1. AMD has always planned on releasing the X2 in June. I'm not sure when in June, but there's still quite a bit of time left before the end of the month.

"The Athlon 64 X2 will be AMD's new brand for dual core desktop CPUs. This line is being talked about today, but an official announcement with full benchmarks won't come until June. Also from that article:
"Earlier this month, Intel introduced their first dual core desktop CPUs - the Pentium D and the Pentium Extreme Edition. "

So, we've been told over and over than Intel would be releasing the PentiumD on the Desktop before AMD released the X2. The implication was that the Intel release would be much earlier than the AMD release (at least that was my impression from the articles).

Now, we are getting Pentium D's in retail, but it has been only very recently that they've arrived. They certainly weren't available in April, and I don't remember any being around in May either (except perhaps @ Dell).

So, I don't see anything surprising here

We are not talking about how well the Intel cpu O/C and it is really good very good but thats the unlocked EE model $ 1000 no way $300 dollars now were talking. The EE does infact look pretty good but $1000 not good enough. At no time did I say I would buy one nor did I say I would sell them in our PC'S I did say that if these guys were going to offer warranty on O/C cpu thats a totally differant story completely unrelated Fact is I was going to get David A 3.73 for fathers day and he came unglueded I don't see how someone can be so intel gunho and yet my husband just hates the P4 p he says its the worse thing intel ever did. He even likes the duallies less . But he did say if dell and the others offer warranty on a watercooled system thats a little bit differant . but way to much $$$$ I don't disagree often with him but the watercooled O/C warranted DE model looks good to me . But that really is way differant than a boxed DE at stock speeds isn't it . Apples to apples fella.
