Not sure if anyone noticed, but the 18.2.1 drivers are now available for Vega FE.

Funny thing is, I had the old 17.12.whatever drivers installed, and when trying to find updated drivers (had to reinstall after a Win10 preview build update, as usual), it showed me 18.2.1 gaming drivers even though I had 17.12.x loaded as the base driver. I figured, why not? Well that didn't work.

Installing 18.2.1 fresh worked just fine, except that I haven't been able to switch to the gaming driver successfully. Kind of a PITA.

Yup, I saw that a few days ago. I've been pretty stable thus far, so I don't plan on updating yet.

On the fence about selling my RX Vega 64 Limited... but only because I don't use it as much as the other black reference version. It's a sweet card but I could probably make a couple hundred on it still.

Problem is it looks just so darn gorgeous in my silver Air 540 case. I know it's superficial and people could be using to mine (oh so precious) crypto, but I'd rather drive over it in the driveway and take the complete loss than have some grimy miner claim it.

rather than drive over it, I'll pay you 350 for it and promise only to use if for games!

Got my my vega rx 64 returned from RMA.
Took some time naturally, and i was a bit of sloppy myself, but excellent service from XFX.

The easy method would be to set the BIOS to the power saving and the Radeon settings profile to power saving. It will clamp down quite nicely and not lose too much perf.

Ok. How is the bios set to power saving? I have a reference card.

This is a bit off topic however, I have a question I wanted to know if anyone else has encountered. I have the Vega FE and an LG 32UD59-B monitor. A 4k Freesync monitor with 40-60hz Freesync range that I have expanded to 32-60hz Freesync range with CRU. Driver version 18.2.1. I am having some issues with Freesync in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. In the Freesync range everything works fine. However, when FPS get above 60fps I get screen tearing. So I tried to enable vsync in the game settings to avoid tearing above 60fps, however, i get a TON of screen flashing and erratic FPS number with Vsync enabled at any FPS. Even below 60fps. So I left Vsync off in game and enabled vsync in the Radeon control panel and the same thing happens. TONS of screen flashing. I also tried enhanced sync in the Radeon control panel as well and same thing happens. Due to limited time I haven't tried any other games but I just wanted to ask the question to see if anyone else encountered this behavior with this game. Thanks!

When you edited ranges in horizontal/vertical refreshes via CRU it also affects V-sync, simple as f***.

ok. I will put the Freesync range back to default in CRU to see if that fixes my issue.

Yep. CRU was the cause. Thanks for your help. I put it back to 40 to 60hz freesync range and it was fine. I then played with it more and determined that 33-60hz range in CRU worked fine but pushing it to 32-60hz range caused all sorts of issues.

I just pulled the trigger on a Sapphire Pulse Vega 56. Newegg has them for $749, which is not great, but also not extreme price gouging. Somehow this card made it to the shelves before any review. I'm pretty confident it will be a winner given the blow through cooling design. FINALLY got my Vega card. So many months of waiting.

Damn Ethereum gets knocked down to half its value from January and they're still selling Vega 56 cards for $750? That is messed up people.

@Despoiler, glad you got yours regardless. Seems like it's gonna be awhile before we see anything better from AMD on the dGPU market.

wat? Isn't that, theoretically, a $450 max MSRP card? vanilla Vega 56 is $370-400 MSRP, right?

The official MSRP is $399 but seems like it was very rare that anyone actually got one for that price without having to also take the bundle.

No, the MSRP of custom v56 cards starts @ $649.99. V64 custom start @ $749.99. Both were before the memory prices skyrocketed too. Initially the Sapphire Pulse V56 was listed at 789 euro.

EDIT: You are right about the FE cards. Those people got a heck of a deal in hindsight although I personally refuse to have a blower regardless of price. That aside I'm selling my R9 Fury for more than it would normally fetch in a "normal" market cycle. I'm going to pay $350 out of pocket for the new card. That's inline with my budget philosophy for buying new parts.

An ASUS Vega 64 Strix is going for 1400$ in aus currently. It's a little pricey. That's what I paid for my Gigabyte GTX1080Ti XE although those cards have gone up a 100$ since I bought mine.

I still want to buy a Vega 64 but at those prices no thanks.
