After following the success of AMD here at AnandTech for a number of months I decided to make my new machine an AMD. Unfortunately this machine consistently hangs when trying to capture video or when converting an AVI to MPEG. My configuration is as follows:
MSI KT7 Pro (6330) ver 1 motherboard
128MB PC133 RAM
Thunderbird 800
20GB IBM Deskstar Ultra66 HD
Asus 7100 GeForce2 MX 32MB AGP video
Hauppauge WinTV PCI capture card
SoundBlaster Live!
300Watt power supply
Windows2000 Professional
I have tried upping the core voltage to 1.75 but that didn't help. I have the latest VIA 4-in-1 installed and the latest drivers from Asus and Hauppauge as well as the latest MB BIOS.
I upgraded to DirectX and re-installed everything again as a clean install all to no avail. I am pretty much fed up with this system since moving all the components to my old Pentium II 333 results in captures and conversions with no problems.
Can anyone here at AnandTech think of anything that might help me out?
Thanks,
Mike
