Love my 770 but bough it in frustration of how much bad luck i have had with AMD cards. If i wasn't so pissed about my last AMD card failing i may have went with a 7970Ghz easily over my 770.

Just bought an EVGA GTX 760 oc or superclock or whatever it is. I'm really happy with it.

Still sticking with my GTX680. Might do a complete refresh with haswell 8 core or something, but the R9 290X looks really tempting to get.

This won't end well. Also you would need an option for both, some of us actually use both
Yea, like me. I have a PC on my desk, and a HTPC (well not really, just a PC hooked to my TV) and I game on both of them, one has GeForce one has Radeon Xfire.

...oh forgot to state my hardware, I have a GTX670 and two 7970s.

have a 7970 performance is pretty good but based on everyone's one take on the 290 I might be replacing it soon. So if anyone is looking for a month old moderately overclocked card 1050/1450 just hit me up when the newer cards are released. Price is not above 250 or if not i'll just keep it as my very first gfx card .

No surprises in the results so far

AMD Crossfire here

was Nvidia SLI briefly and Nvidia single card until recently

Will switch depending on market

I expected a LOT more nvidia people with how many people were talking about Titan nonstop. Surprised to see AMD in such huge numbers. Then again, it's a tech forum and people prefer value USUALLY, and AMD has been delivering it.
I've been debating an additional 7950 but I don't game THAT much haha.

This poll confirms something I've always thought about Anandtech. There are a whole lot of AMD users on this forum....more than NVidia perhaps, which is quite strange given that NVidia supposedly has the much greater marketshare.

Or is it just that AMD users are more vocal?

I swear I think there are more nvidia members due to people's singatures. Just look at this page, everyone who puts their rig in their sig has nvidia in it (small sample I know!). But whenever I see peoples signatures it's always nvidia.

Nvidia always felt like they had more titels (see their LOGO EVERYWHERE, especially on a TON of old games I have), but now that AMD has got their gaming evolved, and mantle (whetehr marketing or not, they look like they got a great chance at getting some market share now.

I'm going to agree with Tential here. If you were to ask 10 people on the street which company they would chose for a graphics card, the statistics say that 6-7 out of those 10 would reply "nVidia", but your average AT forum poster is probably more informed than your average joe about the state of the graphics card market. In other words, your informed consumer would be able to see through the marketing hype from both companies and chose a card which meets their personal requirements, one of which is definitely value. For those in the know, AMD typically provides more bang per buck than their nVidia counterparts. Without this knowledge, your average consumer has nothing else to base their decision on besides what they've heard from friends and peers, and that is where having great marketing rakes in the big bucks.

I've had no problems with single card AMD, but have had tons of headaches with XF. Though I've had more issues with recent Nvidia drivers than I can recall having with AMD in the last couple of years (save for the frame pacing issue). I also was one of the unfortunate owners of the M17x R1, which Nvidia bungled so badly driver-wise (mobo and GPU's were both Nvidia) that Alienware's solution to the problem was to replace them with 4870's.

I haven't had any issues with the newest Nvidia release on my 780, but imo GPU boost 2.0 [is ineffective] for overclocking, and these things basically require an modded vbios if you want to get the most out of them.

I was contemplating getting another 780, but I'm halfway considering selling it for one or 2 of the R9 290's depending on how they turn out.

Warning issued for inappropriate language.

I had a 5850 and dropped it at the beginning of the year for 670gtx oc and so far am pretty sorry. The drivers as of late have been pretty poor (something I thought AMD had the lock on) and performance is only okay.
I am contemplating selling and grabbing one of these 7950s that are selling for less than $200.

Main Gaming GPU is ASUS HD7950 CU II, but i also use older NV cards (GTX480, GTS450 etc) and older AMD cards like HD6950.

Last 4 gaming cards: GTX 680, GTX 560ti, Radeon 6850, Radeon 4870.

I've gone back and forth between both over the years, based on price, performance, power use, heat, noise.

I got the GTX 680 at launch when it was the best choice, before ATI dropped prices, improved drivers, and better third-party coolers appeared. I don't overclock, so some of the potential value in AMD from better OCing is lost to me.

I was curious on AT members/users here on small sample percentage basis per above poll.

You are not even getting that. Just a small selection of AT forum members that havent been scared away from VC&G

The real world is different.
NV market share are huge Stock price: NVDA (NASDAQ)$15.22-0.24 (-1.55%)
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.NYSE: AMD - 3.65-0.07 (-1.88%)

2 to 1 in the Polls! AMD is a larger company (9,800 employees vs. 8,100), has more employees and makes more money (5.42b vs. 3.9b) & has higher revenue, make all the video game consoles, make the fastest video card and next week the fastest GPU. But their CPUs still sux, I bet if you made a "which cpu do u use" poll in the cpu section, Intel would win 4 to 1.

it's just a friendly Anandtech "steam hardware survey". i see no cause for hostility here.
obligatory: poll missing options for IGPs...

Indeed. Anandtech forums aren't the best place for polls of this nature.

Probably a lot of it is due to under-representation of laptops. NVidia are miles ahead in laptop GPUs, no contest (Optimus just works much better than Enduro), but most Anandtech posters will have custom built desktops.

I wonder if people who prefer nVidia hardware are voting AMD here just to perpetuate the whole AT VC&G forums being pro-AMD thing :sneaky:

I'm pretty sure the AT forums users were mainly using Athlons 64 and Athlons X2 even though the rest of the world was mainly using P4s and PDs.

Whatever the final numbers are, I don't expect them to mirror the world that doesn't participate in tech forums.
