While the discussion is relevant, are comments between users (particularly from a moderator that I would expect to lead by example) that they'd like to say words to each other that would get them banned the accepted way of things on this forum? It seems to this newbie like a very informative forum, with a good review section on the main site, but I don't know why these sort of posts are condoned. I'm struggling to learn the rules here.

We expect new posters to acclimate themselves to the forum rules and guidelines and lurk a bit while learning before posting in the wrong venues.
Your post for example is entirely in the wrong venue...it should be made in the
Personal Forum Issues sub-forum. (the same place you will find the
forum guidelines posted)
Since you have already added your post to this thread I will share some of the reasoning why the posting activity you see here is allowed to be here.
Moderators are allowed to post as members. All members are expected to be mature enough to know that the moderator's "member posts" are to be interpreted as nothing more than simply a member post.
This policy is intentional for the very fact mods are not anonymous but they are volunteer and unpaid.
We don't have guidelines for the sake of just having guidelines. The guideline exists for a reason.
I stand by the guidelines and I will enforce them wherever it is my fiducial responsibility to do so.
Keysplayr has every right that is extended to any member in deciding for himself whether or not he wishes to engage in any discussion in any sub-forum here.
You are entitled to the opinion that this is not the right approach, but you need to understand why Keysplayr is entitled to the right to choose his approach.
I don't expect you to agree with the guidelines, but I do expect you to abide by them while they are in effect.
The discussion above in this thread has merit in this thread in that it directly challenges the notion of relevance and credibility placed on rumors in general.
Allowing these guys to dig into it a little bit is helpful to anyone who has contemplated the same, for those who haven't or don't wish to then they really should avoid rumor threads to begin with as disappointed is an outcome with high probability in such an approach.
If you, or any other member, wishes to discuss the topic of why the topic is allowed then please take it to the proper sub-forum, VC&G is not the proper sub-forum to debate forum guidelines or moderator actions.
