Blah blah, if they want some kind of protection, why they don't hardwire some information (like the
multiplier is hardwired now) that is shown to the user before POST telling him the processor is
overclocked (like a "Your-processor-is-running-out-of-spec /
Please-contact-your-vendor-for-tech-support / Press-any-key) ??
It would please both enthusiasts and the general public.

You couldn't do that from the CPU, that would require some work on the side of the motherboard. And you can't exactly expect AMD to change all the motherboards out there to do something like that... Not even the almighty Intel could do that...
