Dude, I am going to be honest, we all have our favorite hardware, but it just amazes me how far people will go to make complete fools of themselves. The AMD chip is just better. No, you are blaming the processor for Operating System intricacies.
Yes, the Intel CPU will do 4 tasks, because the OS sees 4 processors, and will send a thread to each proc.
The AMD system doesn't RECIEVE any DivX thread because the OS scheduler doesn't send it any to work with, because the priority is set to low.
The processor doesn't ignore low priority tasks, the OS doesn't send them. Processors aren't that clever, it's the software which has to be set up right, and in this test it wasn't. Encoding had low priority, so the OS didn't send it to the CPU, so the CPU couldn't work on it. In a properly set up situation, the whole thing could have been different in terms of how the systems dealt with the tasks, although one has to assume this wouldn't affect the stability of the systems, but maybe it would, who knows?

Why don't you go check out the live charts again. Intel is producing 37FPS on the Farcry Timedemo, that's 2 more than AMD. Itll catch up soon and beat the only thing amd is winning so far on these tests.

yes, intel was better at running 4 priority tasks than amd.

I, like you, am an open-minded person, and so if in the future Intel has a better offering than AMD then great, I'll buy an Intel again. For now, AMD have my support.
