List them all

I can name several states where I don’t feel safe and would never live.

Right now if I had no family here I would have no qualms moving to Canada

Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Brazil, Canada, UK, Malasia, France, Italy, and Greece.

What about it?

The decline of America all started with the introduction of crop-tops and revealing clothing in America. We didn't have this abortion madness before that. Now with female high schoolers wearing such clothing, all male classmates can think of is breasts, the female body, and sex. This is what leads to teenage pregnancy. Why do the high school females wear such revealing clothing, if they want to wear revealing clothing, then why not they just take of everything and just run around naked.

I only allow my teenage daughter to wear turttle neck shirt to school here in NYC. I also check her bag everyday to make sure she did not buy her own crop top or revealing clothing, and told her that if I ever find out that she does that, I would disown her.

fuck.

banned before I could ask for pics of daughter.

We can decline for a long, long time before it becomes an issue.

But are we actually in decline?

Our society is becoming more diverse, and with diversity comes resilience.

Our society is becoming more transparent, and with transparency comes awareness of corruption.

Our society is becoming more interconnected, and with communication comes understanding.

In the past we perceived our society in terms of ignorance. Now, we see it for what it is. With that new awareness some people perceive society in decline as illusions are dispelled. Perfect illusions are replaced with acknowledgements of reality. This is perceived as decline.

With the dispelling of illusion, we become aware of societies failures. With that awareness people work to repair them. Other people are predisposed to accept them. Society is changing for the better everywhere. Perhaps not fast enough, but far faster then anyone would have imagined.

This is a time of rapid and extreme change. We live in interesting times, cursed by the old proverb. Society is taking a massive and sustained leap forward. This creates uncertainty which creates discomfort. It is not an easy time, but it is an amazing time in which we can see the potential for the future.

this is good.

it's terrifying, and is also why i've been a bit terrified for a few years now, but that's the state some of us should be in...those that read and shit.

It's interesting times. Most of us know that, a lot of us joke about it, but them some of us laugh at the jokes and also understand why it isn't funny.

But, there is still hope. Not EVERYONE dies during Interesting Times. Just...about 10% of us! (Adjusted for inflation, since 1808-1870-1911-1928-1939-1945, etc)

You guys are embarrassingly naïve and optimistic. We have some existential problems that you guys (@Leeea and @zinfamous) are whiffing on. The pending global warming catastrophes, the absolute and ultimately devastating unsustainability of our industrialized societies being based on oil, whose production peaked years ago and will only keep going down, the threat of nuclear holocaust constantly hanging over our heads (and right now, it seems, more than in 60 years). Wake up from your slumber, we are in serious trouble. And this assessment is not even touching upon our latest catastrophe obsessions: Russia's horrific and entirely unconscionable war of imperialism, the worst pandemic in 100 years and worsening threats of more, and the continuing to worsen epidemic of mindless gun violence in this so-called great country, the USA that has people all over the planet who are not in America wondering what on earth could be going on here.

The pending global warming catastrophes
Global warming is going to happen. It did not have to happen, but it is to late for us to stop it now. We can reduce its impact.

Humans are the most adaptive to climate change of all the species. We not only will survive, we will thrive in amongst the memories of how beautiful our world once was. Nature will not adapt fast enough, so we will need to engineer it to help it along. We have already embraced this on an industrial scale.

the absolute and ultimately devastating unsustainability of our industrialized societies being based on oil
supply and demand is already driving the energy economy toward renewables like windmills and solar.

The only reason many fossil fuels are still around are generous government subsidies. Capitalism will do what it does best, and destroy the inefficient. Government subsidies did not save coal, and they will not save natural gas.

whose production peaked years ago and will only keep going down
which is fantastic if you ask me

Are you a "Friend of the Earth"? If so, you know what needs to be done. Perhaps the next product of evolution might do better?

On a more serious note, we cannot live as slaves to someone like Putin. Missile defenses have been a priority for years. Eventually, the nuclear holocaust will cease to be a guarantee.

Wake up from your slumber, we are in serious trouble.
Absolutely.

My point is we have always been in serious trouble, we just have been blind to it. Things are improving.

Russia's horrific and entirely unconscionable war of imperialism
I remember a time, in my life time, when the USSR made Russia look like a kitten.

the worst pandemic in 100 years and worsening threats of more
Look at the upside, the anti-science, anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers in our society are being culled* a bit.

See, things are improving!

*Everyone has been offered a miracle vaccine at no charge. The messaging about the importance of being vaccinated has reached everyone. We can sit back and give them Darwin without guilt.

the continuing to worsen epidemic of mindless gun violence in this so-called great country
Yes, this is a horrific waste of life and potential. Things will change in time, just not nearly soon enough.

the USA that has people all over the planet who are not in America wondering what on earth could be going on here
Disinformation campaigns. Greedy politicians. Greedy corporations. Crony capitalism.

We have always had all of the above. It is just now our dirty laundry is out for us to see. There is work to be done, but now with awareness comes the ability for that work to be done.

As soon as damaged / flooded ports and ruined farmland impacts Mr. American's food, goods, and comfort.... Mr. American is going to grab his gun and TAKE.
Scarcity breeds either violent anarchy, or dystopian societies like North Korea. Our way of living is temporary. Our future is horrific.

It's probably hard to understand if you're not from the U.S. but there are many things that make U.S. great. Your individual rights and freedoms ( although many people here want to give those up willingly for some reason), our standard of living, economy, opportunity, etc. Anyone who thinks the U.S. is not so great should question why we have so many people trying to immigrate here. We are the most diverse country in the world and the most accepting to multicultural societies.

Rowee!

Don't change a damned thing!

Nah that’s the cockroach. Maybe add crocodiles and sharks. Mother Earth will correct global warming and give a better world to the next intelligent species in a few millennia

I've been assuming the human race was 100% doomed since I was a kid if we don't get off our tiny/finite planet ASAP.

Far as I can see that has only become exponentially MORE true.

Agent Smith summed up humanity nicely.

Well if you're thinking of Texas near the border, that's understandable. Or if you're thinking Californistan and cities like LA where the homeless are rampant and you need a hazmat suit to walk outside, or Chicago or New York where crime is really high, seems understandable.

You should just leave now. Your kind (idiot, liar) dont last too long around here. You will get picked apart and called out on all your lies. Just trying to save you some time and heartache.

GTFOH.

The only real study conducted (can't get closer due to ethical issues in an RCT) in Bangladesh proved beyond doubt masks reduced transmission.
You don't need a study to realize the effectiveness of masks, you just need to know some of the basic epidemiology of this pandemic and something about what masks do. It should be obvious to anybody but prevaricators (we have tons of them around).

How can anyone be ignorant/stupid enough to think that PROPER masks can't help limit the spread of an airborne infection?

Do they believe that medical professionals wear them for decoration?

Seriously anyone still making that argument in 2022 especially is just a moron but it's something that should have been obvious before Covid to ANYONE with a functioning brain.

Man, when I went to junior high they didn't wear revealing clothing but that didn't keep me from getting horny for all the females around me. You want that not to happen, send your daughter to an all girls school. But then she might decide on lesbian relationships, tough titty mate. You come off as an angry, repressive controlling SOB with your attitude. Get therapy. If you don't do that, well, do the equivalent one way or another, but back off on your daughter.
I was in high school at the height of the "go braless" movement. It was wonderful. Not sure what this had to do with the downfall a basic human decency toward one another. Seems to me this is about insane Christian Evangelism run amok if anything.

Gosh, whodathunk a religious sect bent on trying to bring about the End Times so Jesus can shepherd them all home could be problematic for people who don't belong to their death cult?

Why do I feel that the conservative alt-right is going to start some anti-crop top movement of some sort.

Actually NYC is quite safe compared to large metro areas. That NYC is a top crime city is a myth perpetrated by lying sacks of shit conservatives. Living in many of the shithole southern cities is far more dangerous than NYC. Not to mention, if you live in NYC or the surrounding areas, you get to enjoy the most intense and diverse city with the most amenities probably on the planet, things you definitely don't get in the shithole south. Good luck reading the article as it is full of real data and facts, things that cause conservatives to have allergic reactions. Have an Epi-Pen handy

Well it's going to depend on your sources then because there's a lot of data supporting its relatively high in crime.

That's pure BS. Billions of mask wearing Asians don't walk around with their heads up their ass like you.
China has been the strictest on lockdowns and masks since the start. Do you even have any idea what's happening in China right now? They're on major lockdown yet again. If they were so successful in stopping the spread would they still need to force people to stay in their homes?
You may be one of the Fouci fanatics but you do know he was recorded on a TV interview stating the masks absolutely do not stop or prevent the spread, right?

10 most dangerous US cities 2021 based on violent crime-rates:

*(Per the FBI)

(1) Detroit, MI
(2) Memphis, TN
(3) Birmingham, AL
(4) Baltimore, MD
(5) St. Louis, MO
(6) Kansas City, MO
(7) Cleveland, OH
(8) Little Rock, AR
(9) Milwaukee, WI
(10) Stockton, CA

No matter how hard I look, no NYC.
