Book by February 18, 2011; Start travel by March 31, 2011, and complete travel by April 30, 2011.

Very cool air fares (which are normally much higher), but unfortunately, nothing direct from DFW (my closest AA hub) to Narita. I'd have to fly up to Chicago O'Hare, then continue on to Japan from there.

For anyone wondering, it was $299 each way ($598 total), plus $88 in taxes and fees for me, from O'Hare. Total $686. Unfortunately, the round trip from DFW to ORD (Chicago O'Hare) is another $333 (taxes included). $1000 is a bit steep for me! :'(

Youth hostel. Go to Japan, China is kind of meh, and people are rude.

I just got back from Japan for a month's stay in Oct. I had a lot of fun. I stayed in Tokyo and visited most places that were recommended. I'd love to go back, but Morocco is next on the list but for 300$; makes it hard. I think total round trip for me was $1,200ish and that was from Charlotte > O'Hare > NRT. All you'd need to do is get there with about two months rent and start giving English lessons and you'd be set.

There are direct flights from near me (Denver) but for some reason the cheapest that comes up is $427 per leg. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I followed the start/end travel dates.

Great deal if you want to visit there; this is about 1/2 the normal price.

Of course it's gonna be cheap, they consistently have empty planes heading back to China because of all we import in...

Not in this case, but in business it's usually cheaper to ship to China because they're empty going back anyway.
